1PETER chapter 1

Introduction

1 & 2 Peter's general letter were written in Rome about A.D 65, since Paul and Peter were killed in Rome during Neronian persecution around A.D 67-69. The letter was written to diapora believers scattered all over Pontus Galatia, Asia, Cappodocia, and Bithynia, to encourage them to resolutely set their face in one direction, in spite of persecutions, and not to mix up with sinful world in a mixed-race settlement termed Babylon where they found themselves. HE urge them to keep their nuclear family together, to serve well in love, the elders to lead well and the youths to be humble.

Note that, of all the Apostles, only Peter used the term "BORN AGAIN" (1:3 & 23), which actual means to be given life again. This letter was dictated by Peter and written down through Silvanus/Silas, to elaborate on the grace of God for our salvation in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 1

Introduction by worshipping God for who HE IS and What HE has done in Christ

1. Peter (Rock), the Apostle (the sent one) of Jesus Christ, to the chosen diaspora of sojourners (Israelite residents in other nations) at Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia and Bithynia of Asia (all in Asia minor),

2. According to the previous-knowledge in sprinkling of blood unto purification; by the submission of Jesus Christ unto the FATHER; the SPIRIT of Grace has multiplied your Peace with God.

3. The Adorable God and the FATHER of our Lord Jesus Christ, WHO according to HIS mercy to many people, has BORN us AGAIN/given us life again - - unto living by cheerful hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

There is a last day Heavenly inheritance (heirship), so, rejoice.

4. and - - unto keeping indestructible, incorruptible and unfading/perpetual inheritance, in heaven unto you,

5. and to protect in advance, the salvation through Faith unto the latter end, (which will be ready to be revealed in the set-time by the power of God;

6. On which, if we MUST be made sad by divers trials, we shall jump for joy/exult, in a little-while from now.

Authenticity of Faith is known by the test

7. At least, the trial of your faith, is found to be of much value/very costly than golden articles which could perish through fire; however, to ve tested is unto praise, glory and honor, by the appearing/manifestation of Jesus Christ;

8. Whom, you are not aware of, and you selflessly-Love; Whom you have not seen now, but you have Faith unto Him, and magnify/glorify Him by rejoicing and exulting with inexpressible/unspoken joy.

Salvation is freedom of human souls from going to sheol or hades.

9. To carry off/obtain the end goal of Faith, even the salvation of souls.

10. The salvation, about which, the Prophets had searched out and explored, - even those who had prophesied concerning the Grace (charistos) unto you.

11. (They were) investigating into when or what kind of time the SPIRIT will declare Christ plainly, and in the midst of this, they testified beforehand/predicted, the sufferings of Christ, even unto His Glory.

12. But, (they) revealed things which are not for themselves, because it is to minister to you, what is now being announced to you, through those who are proclaiming the gospel to you by the Holy SPIRIT, WHO has been sent from heaven; unto what Angels digress/lean over/stoop down to covet/long for .

Peter told the diasporas to live right before the appearing of the Lord

13. On that account, belt up your loins, be sober/sane in your intellect (deep thought), completely set hope upon the Grace brought forth to you in the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

(as contained in the book of Revelation by John)

14. As submissive Children, do not conform/align to the lusts/longings in your former (state of) ignorance;

15 But, according to HIM, WHO called you happens to be Holy, even everybody should be holy in return.

16. On this account, it was written: be Holy, for I AM Holy. (Lev 11:16, 19:2, 20:7).

17. And if the FATHER, WHO will judge every man's work without partiality, call upon you, turn around in reverence, according to the space of time of your sojourning.

Peter emphasized that selflessly -Love is on account/for the sake God

18. Know that you are not redeemed out of your vain/unprofitable handed down traditions, by perishable silver-cash or golden articles, in return;

19 but by the precious/costly blood of Christ, as of a LAMB without blemishes/ immaculate and spotless;

20 as you have indeed foreknown, the things on account of the conception of the world, and also the things to be made manifest upon the space of time prior to the latter end;

21 God is Faithful, WHO has raised Him out of the dead, and has given Him Glory; in so much that your Faith unto Him and cheerful hope, will be on account of God:

22 even to selflessly-Love one another fervently (extenos), out of a pure and sincere heart, and to purify your souls by obedience to the Truth of brotherly-love (philadelphia);

The words of God make you live forever

23 but, (you are) BORN AGAIN/given Life, to be immortal/indestructible, through the act of sowing the words of God which abide (for you) to live.

24 on that very account, all flesh were like grass, and all their glory like flowers of grass. Grass will wither and the flowers will drop off;

25. However, the utterances (rhema) of the the SUPREME Lord will abide unto ages. And these are the utterances (rhema) of the good news announced to you. (Is 40:6-8).

1PETER chapter 2

1Peter 2

Stay clean of nonsensical-things, crave for words of God

1. Therefore, put aside all evil and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and all ill-will, and defamation/talking someone down.

2. Like unadulterated/plain milk (gala) for a newborn infant; crave for logical/ reasonable things unto salvation, at least for you to grow up by them.

You are Chosen Living Rocks even like the Lord Jesus

3. If, you have tasted that the Lord is kind,

4. towards Whom you approach, as the Living Stone, that was rejected by men, but indeed precious and chosen from God;

5. Like Living-stones, be built up unto spiritual household and a holy priesthood, who will offer up acceptable spiritual sacrifices to God, through Jesus Christ.

6. For, it is contained in the scripture: behold, I place a precious and chosen Stone at the extreme-CORNER in Zion, those who will believe upon Him, shall not at all be put to shame. (Is 28:16).

7. Therefore, to you who believe, (He is) precious; but to those unbelieving ones, the stone which the builders rejected, has happened to be onto the head (topmost part) of that CORNER; (Ps 118:22)

8. And for those who disbelieve the words, IT is positioned as a stumbling stone, and a scandalous mass of rock unto which they stumble. (Is 8:14)

9. However, you are a chosen kindred/race of Royal-Priesthood (priestly and kingly family), you are the holy-saints of virtue (intellectuals-scholars/Genius), called forth unto the act of acquisition of people out of darkness unto Light, by announcing His marvelous things, anyhow unto the heathen-Nations,

10. who in time past WERE not people of God, but now they are. The People, who HAD not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Again, stay away from nonsensical things in the foreign land

11. Beloved, I exhort you as sojourners and your co-neighbors, to abstain from the lusts pertaining to flesh, some of which fight/war against souls;

12. hold on to virtuous things within the heathen nations, by which they could speak against you as evil-doers, at least having inspected/monitored things out of your virtuous deeds; God in turn, will be glorified in the day of visitation.

Submissions to secular government of the day

13. Be submissive to human creations/institution as to the SUPREME Lord, whether kings, on account of being superior to everybody,

14. or governors as being dispatched through HIM , unto punishment of evil-doers, and also for laudation/praise of good-doers;

15. Because, the desire of God is to be good-doers and likewise, to muzzle/silence the ignorance of the foolish-men.

16. As free-men (citizens, exempted from certain obligations), do not hold on to the freedom as a cover-up/pretext for depravity, but, be as servants of God.

17. Honor everybody, Selflessly-Love the brethren(hood). Reverence God. Honor the kings (by evaluation).

Submissions of slaves to their masters

18. To all household servants, be submissive in reverence to your despot/master, not only to the good and gentle, but even the crooked ones.

19 For, if you could suffer unjustly and endure pain for something, on account of this co-perception, it is by the Grace of God,

20. for, what kind of credit is it, if you endure being slapped by making mistakes/trespassing? But, if you could endure suffering by being a good-doer, this also is by the Grace of God.

21. For unto this, you are called-forth, because even Christ suffered for you, leaving behind, for you an underscored things written below, at least to follow after His steps;

22. Who committed no sin, not even deception was found in His mouth; (ref: Isa 53:9)

23. Who, was reproached and did not rail back; Who suffer and did not threaten; but surrender to be judged righteously;

24. Who was lifted/offered up for our sins upon the tree, and make whole/cure the bruises/black eye which has happened away from our sins, by His body, at least, for them to live by Justification.

25. Because, as sheep to a shepherd, you have gone astray, but have now returned to the Bishop (Overseer) of your souls.

1Peter chapter 3

1Peter 3

Submission of wife to husband

1. Similarly, wives, should be submissive to their own husbands, at least, if anyone disbelieve the words, he could be won/gained in turn, without words, through the wife/woman;

2 whom, by monitoring her reverence, she could in turn, be chaste.

3. who, on external clothing, her hair is not of elaborate braiding and putting on of garments of the world or golden articles all around her.

4. But, who by hidden incorruptible things of the heart: being meek and quiet/gentle (sedentary), which is very precious/expensive in the presence of men and the SPIRIT of God.

5. Because, in time past, even the holy wives/women, who confide/hope in God, likewise adorned/decorated themselves and were submissive to their own husbands;

6. as Sarah obey Abraham as lord (Gen 18:12); who happened to bid her child to be good doer, who is never afraid of not even one terror.

Husband should be diligent with their wife

7. Similarly, husband (fellow-men), dwell together with feminines/females according to (mental) knowledge, as you apportion a value/honor unto a strengthless/fragile equipment, and as joint-heirs of the Grace unto zoe-Life, your oratory prayer should not be cut off.

Christians are equipped with ability to bless /speak well to others

8. However, for the ultimate end goal, be like-minded, be sympathetic, be brethren-lovers, be compassionate to everybody and be humble-minded/friendly minded.

9. Never repay evil for evil or slander for slander; but on the contrary, bless (speak well to others); because, these ones are called out, at least unto being heirs of blessings.

10. Because (for you) to see good days, desire zoe-Life, and love selflessly, stop evil things from your tongue and never preach decoy/deceit by your lips.

11 moreover, deviate away from evil and do good things; he will seek after peace even with those who persecute him.

12 Howbeit, to be doing evil upon the face of the SUPREME Lord, for the eyes of the SUPREME Lord is upon the righteous and HIS ears are unto their petition/requests. (ref: Ps 34:12-16)

13. And who will harm you, in case you become a zealous person for good things?

Persecution for right and wrong reasons

14. But, you are supremely blessed, if you suffer because of righteousness; moreover, do not be afraid of their terror, nor be agitated; (ref: Isa 8:12).

15. So, hallow/consecrate Christ, in your hearts; be always ready towards a defence to everybody who will ask you matter concerning the cheerful hope for the Lord in you; but with meekness and reverence;

16 (for them) to have a good co-perception, at least in what they speak evil against; and in return, to shame down those who slander your good (works) in Christ.

Persecution of Christians as of the Christ

17. For, if you want the will of God, it is better to suffer for doing good than for doing evil,

18. No doubt, even Christ for once suffered concerning sins, the Righteous for the unrighteous, (His) flesh indeed was killed, but made to live/revitalized by the SPIRIT; at least to lead us towards God;

19 Who had traveled in the spirit to herald (be a sign of imminent happening) to those in imprisonment (souls in hades); -

20 - those who disbelieved at a time in the days of Noah, when, by long-forbearance, God waited for a box (ark) to be fully-constructed, into which a few, that is, eight souls were rescued on account of water.

21. And now, there is a copy/counterpart, through which you could be saved by baptisma/washing, not of putting away of the impurity of the flesh (external body) but, by inquiry unto God for a good consciousness/co-perception on account of resurrection of Jesus Christ;

22. Who has traveled into heaven, in the Right hand of God; and the Angels, the Authorities and Powers are put in subjection to Him.

1PETER chapter 4

1 Peter 4

Awareness of the persecution of Christ: a strong reason to forsake sin

1. Because the flesh of Christ has suffered, then, you should be should  armed/equipped with the same inner thoughts that flesh will suffer for sin to cease.

2. Men should no longer spend their life in the lusts of the flesh but their remaining space of time unto the desire of God.

3. For, enough space of time has passed away, for carrying out the counsel of the gentiles in walking in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, mayor-banqueting/revelry and abominable idol worshiping;

4 by which they were alienated. You should never rush together with them into promiscuity (unsaved state), anarchy/excesses and blasphemy;

5. who hold on to the account of recompensing the living, and are ready to judge the dead.

6. unto this (reason), according to the flesh, good message should indeed be preached to men, because with respect to the SPIRIT, the dead and the living will be judged at least by God

Serve well for the glory of God

7. Moreover, the ultimate end goal of everybody is very close. Therefore, be sound-minded, and be sane/abstain from wine unto oratory-prayer;

8.  Have fervent selfless-Love unto yourselves, before everybody because selfless-Love covers up multitude of sins; (Prov 10:12)

9. Be hospitable unto one another, without complaints;

10 Just as, every man, has received divine endowments (charisma), administer them unto one another, as virtuous-managers of divers/various Grace of God.

11. If on anything (topic) , preach as scholar/oracle of Jesus Christ; if to any-person, minister as though, out of the strength which is sponsored/granted by God, at least to glorify God in all things, on account of God, to WHOM be the Glory, and the State/Dominion, ages unto ages. Amen.

Persecution is unto the glory of God

12. Beloved, do not to be alienated by trials happening towards you, so fiery in you, as though strange things are befalling you.

13. but rejoice and to have shared in the suffering for Christ, at least, even according to the revelation of His Glory, you will be glad and jump for joy.

14. If insulted for the Name of Christ, supremely blessed are you, because the SPIRIT of God has rested upon you in glory. (Indeed, according to them He is blasphemed, but according to you, He is glorified).

15. Because, anyone of you will never suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a busybody;

16. but, if as Christianos, never be ashamed; but glorify God in that same Name (Jesus).

17. Because, at the time of judgment of God, God may start away from our households, however, if it would be from us first, what will be the end goal of those who disbelieve the good message of God?

18. If the righteous will be barely saved, at what place will the irreverent ones and sinners show up? (Prov 11:31)

19. It is, in so much that the Creator/the Founder has committed HIS good-doings/benevolence to them, even the faithful souls who are suffering according to the will of God.

1Peter chapter 5

1Peter 5

Elders are to care for the church

1. Therefore, I exhort the Elders within you, being a fellow-Elder, and a witness of the suffering of Christ, and a Partaker of the glory, about to be revealed:

2. Shepherd the flock of God among you. Never supervise/oversee over them, forcefully but willingly, according to God; not even money profit-driven, but with alacrity;

3. Not even as exercising lordship over a portion, but become a model-type to the flock (believers) .

4. And should the Chief/Arch-SHEPHERD manifest, you will carry away/obtain the unfading crown of glory.

Youth are to submit to God and resist the devil

5. Likewise, the youths should submit self to the Elders: moreover, all should be belted-up with humility of mind to one another; because God opposes the proud, but give Grace to the humble. (Prov 3:34).

6. Therefore, be humble under the Powerful-HAND of God, at least, you will be elevated in due-time;

7. Cast all your anxiety/care upon HIM, because HE concerns/cares about you.

8. Abstain from drink/be sober, be vigilant; for your adversary, the devil, as it were a roaring lion, is treading all around, seeking who to gulp down/swallow.

9. which you should withstand, by tough/solid Faith. Be aware that as brotherhood/Christian-fraternity, you are to accomplish upon the same suffering in the world.

10. So, by the Grace (charistos) of God, WHO has called you unto HIS Eternal Glory, in Christ-Jesus, everybody who has suffered a little while; shall be thoroughly mended/frame, set fast (in one direction), strengthened and consolidated/established by HIM.

11. HIS State/Dominion and Glory, is unto ages of ages. (Amen).

Conclusions: Acknowledgment and greetings

12. I write, through Silvanus/Silas, your faithful brother, to exhort and reckon on a few thing -- as though I am testifying further/corroborating through this (means), by the Grace of the True God, unto which we stand.

13 the co-elected in mingled/mixed-nations/babylon, and my son [John]-Mark, greet you.

14. Greet one another in selfless Love (Agape), a kiss of Peace (as of mezuzah Deut 6:4-9,11:13-21) unto you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
