1Peter chapter 5

1Peter 5

Elders are to care for the church

1. Therefore, I exhort the Elders within you, being a fellow-Elder, and a witness of the suffering of Christ, and a Partaker of the glory, about to be revealed:

2. Shepherd the flock of God among you. Never supervise/oversee over them, forcefully but willingly, according to God; not even money profit-driven, but with alacrity;

3. Not even as exercising lordship over a portion, but become a model-type to the flock (believers) .

4. And should the Chief/Arch-SHEPHERD manifest, you will carry away/obtain the unfading crown of glory.

Youth are to submit to God and resist the devil

5. Likewise, the youths should submit self to the Elders: moreover, all should be belted-up with humility of mind to one another; because God opposes the proud, but give Grace to the humble. (Prov 3:34).

6. Therefore, be humble under the Powerful-HAND of God, at least, you will be elevated in due-time;

7. Cast all your anxiety/care upon HIM, because HE concerns/cares about you.

8. Abstain from drink/be sober, be vigilant; for your adversary, the devil, as it were a roaring lion, is treading all around, seeking who to gulp down/swallow.

9. which you should withstand, by tough/solid Faith. Be aware that as brotherhood/Christian-fraternity, you are to accomplish upon the same suffering in the world.

10. So, by the Grace (charistos) of God, WHO has called you unto HIS Eternal Glory, in Christ-Jesus, everybody who has suffered a little while; shall be thoroughly mended/frame, set fast (in one direction), strengthened and consolidated/established by HIM.

11. HIS State/Dominion and Glory, is unto ages of ages. (Amen).

Conclusions: Acknowledgment and greetings

12. I write, through Silvanus/Silas, your faithful brother, to exhort and reckon on a few thing -- as though I am testifying further/corroborating through this (means), by the Grace of the True God, unto which we stand.

13 the co-elected in mingled/mixed-nations/babylon, and my son [John]-Mark, greet you.

14. Greet one another in selfless Love (Agape), a kiss of Peace (as of mezuzah Deut 6:4-9,11:13-21) unto you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
