Ephesians Chapter 1

Introduction 

Ephesians letter was written while Paul was serving his home arrest in Rome, about A.D 60-61. It was dispatched to Ephesus and its environs by Thychicus (Eph 6:21). Paul decoded - a once a mystery but now - a known-gospel to the Church, where Jews and non Jews have equal opportunity to salvation of their souls and they must show forth their place as heavenly ambassadors in the kingdom of God on earth right now, in their daily living.

Introduction to the letter 

1 Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, through the determination of God, (writing) to the holy saints who are in Ephesus (in Asia), and the faithful ones in Christ Jesus.

2 Peace with God, the FATHER and Grace from our Lord Jesus Christ be unto you.

Redemption of our lost wealth and spiritual blessings in Christ by our adoption as sons, to God's glory

3 we have been blessed, even in all Spiritual blessings/largess, in Christ by the Adorable God and FATHER of our Lord, Jesus Christ, 

4 - in the Same (Jesus), we have been chosen by SELFLESS-LOVE, to be holy and blameless in HIS PRESENCE; just as it was/had been for us before the conception of the world.

5 - according to HIS determination and unto HIS good pleasure, we were pre-determined, unto ADOPTION as sons, through Jesus Christ; (Gen3:15).

6 - Who SELFLESSLY-LOVE us, to grace us/honor us by visitation (charistoo) unto the laudation and Glory of the SAME (God) by divers-Grace (Charistos);

7 in Whom we have freedom from trespasses, through His blood, (and) full-ransom/redemption of His wealth/riches, according to divers-Grace (charistos);

8 which has super-abound unto everybody, in our wisdom and intellectual insight/sound judgment (Phronesis)

The Mystery of salvation has been finally made known 

9 and We have made the Mystery known, according to HIS determination and HIS good pleasure; which was proposed/intended in the Same (Jesus);

10 - and at the completion of time, all management/administration upon the sky, and upon the earth shall be summed up/be brought together under a Head, in Christ.

11 and in Him, all PRE-DETERMINED things, energized by HIS determination, according to HIS intention/proposal and according to counsels, shall be allotted/assigned by lot, - 

12 - unto us, who are in Christ, and had trusted early/hope beforehand (for them), unto the laudation and Glory of the SAME (God).

Holy Spirit, the collateral security and seal on Christians.

13 in which, you have heard the words of Truth; in which you have also believed the gospel of salvation, and the promise of being sealed by the Holy SPIRIT,

14 WHO is (as) the Guarantee/a token given in advance (arrhabon), unto our redemption, in the act of acquisition of heirship/inheritance, (which is) unto HIS laudation and Glory.

Two PRAYER points OF PAUL: the Spirit of wisdom and Revelation into full discernment of Christ Glory; and illumination of their eyes to absolutely know 3 things by full discernment, in their hearts (as in Phillip 1:9)

15 by this reason, even I, having heard of your Faith in the Lord Jesus, and with respect to your SELFLESS-LOVE unto all the holy saints,

16 I did not stop, to express gratitude (in worship) for you, and to mention things you have done upon my oratory prayers,

17 at least, that God and FATHER of our Lord, Jesus Christ, will give you the Spirit of Revelation even for Wisdom in full-knowledge/discernment of His Glory, - 

18 - and to illuminate/give light to your eyes, to be aware in your heart, what is the pleasurable hope in His invitation/calling; what is riches/wealth of heirship/inheritance of saints, in His Glory, 

19 - and how much of greatness (magnitude) is HIS miraculous power, unto us, who have faith, to SURPASS/EXCEL (break record) according to the operation/effectiveness of His strength (force) and Dominion (great vigour).

Christ is the Head over everything ever named including the Body of Church

20 Which was energetic/worked in Christ, to raise the Same (Jesus) up from the dead, and to settle down in HIS Right Hand in the heavenly realm, 

21- far above all authorities of ancient-times (in Judaism), lordship and power, and the names of all that were named/will be named, not only in this age, but even in the one to come;

22 and everything and everybody given to Him, are put in subjection under His feet; the HEAD over the church; -

23 - which is His Body, and at the completion/fullness of all things, everything shall be fulfilled.
