Hebrew chapter 7

Heb 7

Melchi-Zedek (meaning: king-of-Justification) was the last very very aged-man of the generation of people like Methushela, and was a king in (Jeru) Salem (peace city)

(Continue from Heb 5:11)

1 This Melchi-Zedek, the king of Salem, a priest of the Most-High God, because he met with Abraham who was returning from (a place of) slaughter, the king blessed him; (Gen14:18) 

2 and to whom Abraham apportioned a tenth (decath) out from everything. what indeed was first interpreted as, "King of Justification", however, later, was a King of Salem, a King of Peaceful city/JeruSalem

3 of untraceable/unregistered genealogies/birth history, neither of early stage of (his) days, nor ultimate end; of unrecorded paternity/father, unknown mother but made similar to the Son of God, who have Zoe-life to remain a Priest continually.

4 Moreover, see how great this man was, whom the Patriarch, Abraham gave a decath/tenth, out of the best of the booty (the top on the heap).

5 And indeed, the priestly office is from the sons of Levi, who have the commandment according to the law, to receive decath/a tenth of the people who are their brethren; though, these ones proceed out of the loin of Abraham,

6 however, the one, who is not from them, by tracing genealogy collect decath/a tenth from Abraham and blessed the one who have the promise.

7 so, without controversy, the smaller one has been blessed under the superior.

8 And there, men who will die, received decath/one tenth; but here, we are testifying of the One Who will live-on.

9 and, to say it as in a word, Levi who is receiving tenths, also paid a tenth through Abraham. 

10 for, he was still in the loin, when Melchizedek met with his father.

The need for a New priesthood, warrant a brand new-age law

11 Therefore, if there was consummation/absoluteness of things through Levitical priesthood, for the people were legislated upon/given law, by them; what is the use for another Priest, to still arise, according to the class of Melchizedek, and not the said order, according to Aaron?

12 because by changing position of the priesthood, out of necessity, a transposition of the law will also happen.

13 because this thing was said, upon another tribe, to which no man pay attention, and who will partake of things from the altar.

14 for, it is readily-obvious, that our Lord spring up out of Judah, unto which tribe, Moses preached nothing about high-priest.

15 and it is strongly-obvious, if another priest would still rise up, it will be more abundantly according to the similarity/similitude of Melchizedek. 

16 Who did not come into being according to law of commandments pertaining to flesh, but according to the power of indestructible zoe-Life.

17 for, it was testified: You are the Priest unto ages, according to class of Melchizedek. 

18 for indeed, it happens to be by cancellation of preceding commandments, because of its weakness and uselessness -

19 because no man could be made perfect by introduction of the law, however, there is a better one with pleasurable Hope, through which, we will be drawn close to God.

The greatness of the New-age Priest 

20 And, in as much as, it is NOT without oath,

# it is indeed AGAINST those ones who became priest without oath.

21 however, with the oath, HE will not regret/repent. For it was said toward them through the Supreme God, I sware... , and You will be the Priest unto ages.....

22 and so vast as this is Jesus, to become the Guarantor with respect to a better covenant.

23 also, because of death, they were being hindered to tarry long, so there are many indeed who could become priests.

24 however, because He abides unto ages, He has a permanent priesthood,

25 therefore, He can save, those who draw near, and through Him, even unto the full end, He will always fall-in to prepare for them, to live on, unto God. 

26 for, such a High Priest is Who is appropriate/suitable for us, Who is of divine right qualities (merciful, holy, loving), harmless, undefiled, separated from sinful things and become lofty to heaven;

27 Who have no need, just as the former high priests, to offer up sacrifice for his own sin, and then for the people according to days; for, He did it once for all, by offering up Himself.

28 because, men appointed by law have weakness, however, a Son with words of oath, to be the High-Priest unto ages, has fulfilled the law/complete the intended goal of the law.
