Hebrew chapter 2

Heb 2

Never neglect, this so great salvation

1 By this reasons, we MUST exceedingly pay attention to the things heard, never to let it slip away at any time.

2 because, if the words preached through Angels could become so firm, and for all (its) violations by disobedience, (they) receive the corresponding rewards/pay-back.

3 how shall we escape, for being careless/negligent of such a vast salvation? - Which was confirmed under the Supreme Lord, preached through certain people unto us at the early stage, and received by those who heard.

4 God further jointly testified/corroborated us by signs and wonders, and divers miracles in addition to distribution of Holy Spirit according to HIS option/will.

Men on earth were formerly demoted in rank beside angels by reason of sin of someone

5 because, never was those in the inhabited part of the world, put in subjection to Angels; and concerning which I am about to preach:

6 however, someone somewhere earnestly testify, saying, what is man, that he is remembered, or the sons of Adam, that he is to be visited?

7 you were crowned, with glory and honor, {and positioned upon the work of HIS Hands}; in short, SOMEONE had diminished/made them lower (in influence) besides angels.

8 because, all things were subjected down under their feet (Ps 8:4-6). But Now, of certainty/no gainsaying, we have clearly discerned Him, to whom all things are subjected, and in Him all things are in subjection, and nothing was left unsubjected to Him.

Many became glorious sons of God through Jesus

9 however, those whom SOMEONE , in short, had made lower in rank beside angels by death, could look at Jesus, Whom through suffering had tasted death anyhow, for the sake of everyone; and has been crowned, with glory and honour, by the Grace of God,

10 because it is appropriate/proper for the FOUNDER/ORIGINATOR (AUTHOR), through WHOM are all things, and for WHOM all things are, to bring many unto glory through HIS Son, who consummate salvation by reason of His suffering.

11 because, the CONSECRATED (person) is One out of those to be consecrated. The reason/cause through which He is not ashamed to call everyone His Brother.

12 as it is said, I will declare the names of "My brothers" to YOU; in the middle of the church/congregation, who sing praising-hymns to YOU. (ref: Ps 22:22)

13 And again, He is persuaded upon us; behold, again: I, and even the boys and girls, whom God has given Me.....(Ref: Is 8:18)...

Jesus exemplify the office of a High Priest

14 Therefore, since little children/boys and girls are also partakers of blood and flesh, and He similarly share the same thing, at least, through death, He render the one who had the dominion of death useless, and that is the devil;

15 and He released/set free, all those who, as long as they are alive, they are liable to/in danger of fear, through slavery/bondage to death.

16 to be explicit/of course, because, where no Angel could take hold to help (epi-lambanomai), but an OFFSPRING of Abraham has laid hold to help;

17 from here on, the faithful ones must become similar/resemble in all things, at least to become merciful unto the brethren according to the High-Priest Who makes propitiation for the sins of the people towards God;

18 by which He suffered, and because He has been tried, He can help those who are being tried.
