Introduction
The second letter follows after a few months by Paul, alongside Silas (Silvanus) and Timothy, about AD 51-52. It addresses issues around the judgment day of the Lord, in that, there must be the revealing of the lawless/loveless man first (2:2-10), so, nobody should be idle (3:6-15) and he closed the letter with the benediction, without usual one on one greetings.
2 Thess 1
Paul thanked God for the growth of Faith and selfless-Love in the Church
1 Paul, and Silvanus (Silas) and Timothy, to the Churches of Thessalonians in the Lord Jesus Christ by our FATHER God.
2 Peace with God our FATHER, and Grace from the Lord Jesus Christ be unto you.
3 Brethren, we must express gratitude to God always, about you, just as it is worthy; for you are doing more in Faith and selfless-Love (agape) of each person has increased above ordinary degree to one another, even (from) one of you unto everybody.
4 In so much that we boast of it in you, and among the churches of God; your cheerful-endurance in all tribulations and the persecutions which you bear for the sake of your Faith.
Assurance of the Glory of God in the final judgment (ref: book of Revelation given to John (the beloved))
5 An indication that, by fair/righteous judgment of God, you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for the sake of which you have suffered.
6 If perhaps, you, along side the Righteous who are being oppressed will be repaid by God for the afflictions;
7 there is a rest/relaxation amidst you with us, who are being oppressed; by the miraculous-Power of the Lord Jesus in the (book of) Revelation to His Messenger (John) from heaven.
8 in a blazing/flame of fire, vengeance will be given to those who do not know God, and to those who do not listen attentively to the gospel of our Lord, Jesus;
9 some of who will pay the price of eternal destruction as the right penalty, from the presence of the Lord, and from the strength of His Glory;
10 whenever He will come, the holy saints will glorify Him in that day and be admired among all who have Faith, because they have faith upon our testimony to you,
Paul always pray for the Saints
11 Unto which, we make prayer always for you and our labor on you to be fulfilled. And concerning everybody, at least to be counted worthy of the invitation for the beneficence/kindness, mighty deeds and good pleasure of God by Faith.
12 anyhow, our God will be glorified in the Name of our Lord, Jesus, in you, as you are in Him according to the Grace of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
