Ps 107
BOOK 5 (Psalms 107—150, most of the songs are from David, except few like Ps 126 and 137 which are about the experience in Babylon. Psalm 120 to 134 are termed songs of progressions or poems with thoughts that are in steps to a climax).
Ps 107
It is a good thing to hold out hands in thanksgiving to Jehovah, for HIS kindness is unto eternity:
let the Redeemed say, the HAND of Jehovah has redeemed us from tight places:
we were gathered together from east to the west, to a land by the sea towards the north.
we wandered in the wilderness by the way of Jeshimon (solitary), - to find the city of our settlement.
we were hungry and thirsty, for our souls were shrouded/overwhelmed:
*We cried aloud unto Jehovah in tight place and HE delivered us from distress.
however, (only) the Upright traveled through the road to the city of their settlement and walk around in it.
#Oh that we would hold out our hands in adoration to Jehovah for performing miracles in HIS kindness to the sons of Adam!
but, for their hungry souls to be replenished with good things, their souls course/move greedily to be satiated.
only to be seated down in misery, where they were prisoner/bound in iron like someone in the darkness of the shadow of death;
because they embittered their main-Leader (el) and scorn/despise the utterances of the counsel of the Most High (Elyon), -
- who has helped them from tottering under hard labor and their hearts from being subdued.
*They cried aloud unto Jehovah in tight place and HE saved them from distress.
they have disconnected/broken the handed-down-ethics and they proceeded out into things of darkness like shadow of death,
#Oh that we will hold out our hands in adoration to Jehovah for performing miracles in HIS kindness to the sons of Adam!
HE burst the doors of copper/brass, and cut the bolts of iron for them;
but on the road, they were foolish and responded with revolt and perversity,
when the food was disgusting to them and their souls were touched/affected by the gate of the place of death.
*they cried aloud unto Jehovah in tight place, and HE saved them from their distress.
HE sent forth spoken-words and mend/heal them and cause their escape from pitfall/corruption:
#Oh that we would hold out our hands in adoration to Jehovah for performing wonders in HIS kindness to the sons of Adam!
let us reckon HIS activities with a shout of joy and with the extension of our hands in adoration to HIM, like when they slaughter animals for a sacrifice.
Those on ship who descend into the sea and do their services/business in great-waters; -
- could see the activities of Jehovah, and HIS wonders in the deep part (of waters);
it is said, THE SPIRIT is exalted, whenever waves is standing under whirlwind, -
- ascending up to the sky and descending to the abyss, such that, their souls melt/faint, because they are evil.
so, to do away with such, in their own wisdom, some got drunk during feasting/holy day celebration, and would be shaking/moving to and fro.
** but, having proceeded out into distress; they would cry aloud out to Jehovah in their tight place,
and as HE will rise up, there will be a calm/quietness to the whirlwind while the waves will be hushed into silence.
they will rejoices for it has ceased/subsided, and they will be led into their desired region/haven.
#Oh that we would hold out our hands in adoration to Jehovah for performing wonders in HIS kindness to the sons of Adam!
let the elders/aged in our settlement and the people exalt HIM, let the congregation praise HIM,
for the way-out of being thirsty of water, HE put river in the wilderness,
because the land had been salted (rendered barren) as the fruit of the evil of those that settled down there;
HE put marsh/lake in the wilderness as a way-out for water on earth, even water in a dry land:
and there, the hungry ones will sit down to establish a city as their settlement.
they could sow in the field, plant a vineyard, that will yield fruits as their gain/increase;
but their livestocks greatly decreases, even though they have been blessed to multiply,
this was stopped/halted because they were evil, so, they decreased and were brought low/sink into grief,
contempts will be poured out on their Volunteered-Princes (nadiyb) because they have wandered from the way unto chaos/formlessness (tohu).
their kindred/families that should be made lofty for safety are beggars and their flocks are put in misery.
the mouth of the Upright will rejoice, for seeing things of iniquities and jumped over/skipped them,
but understand that Jehovah in HIS kindness will preserve the wise ones.
