Ps 78
Instructive poem by Asaph.
People should give ear to the Law (torah), and incline their ears to the utterances of my mouth:
I will open my mouth in parable, and riddles of ancient time will gush out:
for you to know that which, we have heard and reckoned from our fathers.
which we, their children are denied of, but at last, the wonders that had been done of ages will be reckoned to the praise of the forcibleness/strength of Jehovah.
the children should know and rise up for the testimony of Jacob, and the Law which was put/set for Israel, as commanded to the fathers.
so that, the children to be born in the coming ages will know and rise up to reckon it to their own children:
the elohim would be put/set on their loins, by keeping the commandments, even if they forget/mislaid the exploits/inventions of their main-leader (el) (Moses)
but the fathers of that age, - were rebellious and made their main-leader (el) bitter, the generation that should have prepared our hearts to believe in The SPIRIT:
the sons of Ephraim, turned things around with weapons in the day of battle, even by their bows on high-places/heights;
but, their elohim refused to preserve the covenant to walk in the Law (torah)
and they mislaid the deeds-narratives/exploits and the wonders that they had seen,
the miracles that were done in the sight of their fathers in the land of Egypt, even in the fields of Zoan (in Egypt): (Num 13:22)
sea was ripped open and heap of waters was stationed/stood for them to cross over.
they were led by light daily, and by night in the cloud of fire,
sharp rock was ripped open in the wilderness, and they were furnished drink from the abyss in abundance;
coming out from craggy rocks was tricklings of water that descended as a river:
yet they sinned in the dry-land and make THE Most High (Elyon) bitter in addition;
their inner hearts were tried/proved, when those souls asked their main-Leader (Moses) for food/meat:
as rehearsed, our leaders said - CAN their main-Leader (el) arrange in order/furnish a table in the wilderness?
CAN water gush out from a sharp rock and overflow this estate? Also, CAN bread be prepared and be given? Our people were slain but there were some as remnants.
we heard, that fire of Jehovah burn in Jacob but when HIS anger passed-away, Israel ascended/went up;
however, some of our leaders (elohim) believed and trusted HIS salvation:
HE commanded from above and the doors of the sky were opened wide for them to laugh:
as though grains produced were being rained down, HE gave them Maw-n (WHAT-NESS/a record thing) from the sky, to eat:
Men eat the food to their satisfaction as if strong-Knights were sent out to hunt for provisions:
with great strength, they traveled towards the south, and at their fore-front (still) were those things from the sky.
as though it was raining to the extreme, there were fowls like sea-sands for the remnants/survivors who are like dust of the earth, - -
- -they were falling down into the midst of their camp, and all around their habitation:
so while they were going, they ate very well, and satiate their lust/longings;
because of the lust of the strangers among them, while the food was still in their mouth, - (Num 11:4)
- in HIS anger, the robust/fattest out of our Elohim were slain while (only) the youth of IsraEl submit on their kneel and ascended/went up:
even though, they believed in the wonders, yet they (also) sinned:
however, the years of vanity and years of panic/alarm have to come to an end; -
while they were being slain, they sought after their main Leader (el) who was up very early, to restore them.
and for them to be redeemed, the main-Leader (el) and all his elohim remember that in the Most High (Elyon) is their sharp rock.
they were enticed by the mouth and tongues that lied to them;
even though, HIS covenant was to establish their hearts, if they believe in it;
though full of compassion, to cover/atone their iniquities, - they multiplied corruption and turned back HIS anger, and wake up to inconveniences.
having remembered they were flesh - the SPIRIT walked with them, to be restored;
how embittered HE was in the desert, and worried in Jeshimon! (Num 21:20-a solitary place)
having tried their main-leader (el), they were restored and the Holy of Holies was marked out for Israel:
in the day they were redeemed from tight place, we have to remember "THE HAND" -
- that, set signs in Egypt and wonders in the field of Zoan (Num 13:22):
- that, turned around river Nile into blood, even the only thing that trickle/drip for them to drink;
- that, sent out mixed (flies) which devour things and frogs which decay/get corrupted;
- that, gave the produce of crops of their labor to caterpillars and locusts:
- that, smote their vines with hail and their sycamore trees with aphis (blackfly);
- that, locked their cattle down with hail and their livestock-possessions with sparks/flames;
- that, sent out delegates of Angels, to cross over (on expedition) with fierceness, anger and fury against their trouble and evil; -
but paved route to refrain the living from their anger, and from THINGS that lock down souls in a place of death:
- they smote the first born in Egypt, the first of their successful effort in the tent of Ham (hot tropical zone);
- they started a journey with our people and drive forth their drove/herds of flock/sheep in the wilderness:
- they guided them with confidence, from sudden alarm of the enemy who were covered up/swallowed in the sea;
- they went from HIS Right Hand, with them to the border of Holy mountain, which we acquired;
- they, expelled the heathen-nations before Israel, and a measuring-line fell on their inheritance for our tribes and they dwelt in tents;
what our leaders (elohim) preserve, the fixtures of people tried/proved, and they made the Most High (elyon) bitter.
our fathers were a Type that dealt treacherously and deceitfully turned things around like bow;
they provoked HIM with graven-image in high places to make HIM jealous.
when they heard that our Elohim are crossing over, IsraEl was very much abhorred.
they abandoned their rosy/red tabernacles and dwelt in tents at Shiloh.
By the great strength of HIS HAND, ornaments were given to our exiled men even from their tight place.
our people, who were locked down with swords, cross over into their inheritance;
while fire was devouring those ones, our young men/youth and virgins/maidens were celebrating/giving praise.
If the official priests/mediator fall down by swords, their widows will lament.
like the Adonay/Lord , let our warriors awake from being sleepy through wine for us to shout for joy;
slay them from behind in tight places, and give them a reproach to eternity.
The tent of Ephraim in Joseph was abhorred and a tribe was chosen;
the tribe of Judah was chosen, even mount Zion that we love;
exalted sacred-sanctuary has been founded and built up on earth to eternity.
David HIS servant was chosen, who was taken from a fold of flock/sheep;
to go afterwards and nurse/give milk, even to feed/shepherd the people of Jacob, and IsraEl in their inheritance;
He tends/shepherds them with integrity of the palm of his hand and led them by insight/intelligence of his inner-heart.
