Ps 127
Song of degree/progressions (thoughts rising to the climax) for Solomon
1 Labouring/toiling to build a city for yourself is unto self-destruct, when others are building a house for Jehovah. Also, watching sleeplessly to preserve it is unto self-destruct, when Jehovah is the ONE preserving you.
2 it is self-destruct to rise up in those "disliked years", shouldering responsibilities (shekem), defer sitting down, so as to give food to well-beloved ones and eating under pain.
3 just as our inheritance is our wages/rewards (sakar) from Jehovah, the sons/children from our belly, are HIS fruits.
4 like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the sons/children in their youth:
5 Happy is that valiant-man that his arrow-case is replenished, because his enemies will be put to shame when he speaks at the gate.
