Psalm Chapter 79

Ps 79

Poem set to music by Asaph:

Heathen-nations have come into the inheritance of our elohim, and they have defiled the Holy temple and put Jerusalem into ruins:

they have given dead bodies/carcasses of YOUR servants as eatables to birds of the sky, and the flesh of the Pious ones to the living creatures of the earth:

they shed their blood like water and buried them all around Jerusalem,

we are a reproach to fellow-citizens, a scorn and derision to everyone around us.

Why Jehovah? Why are YOU enraged? Will YOUR jealousy burns as fire till the ultimate end?

the displeasure of heathen nations is upon a kingdom that pour out (libations), know and call out to YOUR Name.

it is devastating/appalling, how they devour habitation of Jacob.

those who precede us, who hasten into iniquity has brought us very low; therefore, remember YOUR first compassion.

the elohim among us can help on the matter of all-round-salvation in YOUR Name, by which, we can be delivered by covering/atoning for our habitual sins for the glory of YOUR NAME.

it is said, who are the leaders (Elohim) of this heathen nations? Because it is known even to all eyes that there will be vengeance upon this heathen nations for shedding the blood of Your servants;

the groaning of the prisoners have come before HIM, because, the magnitude of their arms exceed that of the children doomed for execution;

Adonay will turn back the reproach of our fellow-citizens, seven times to their bosoms, for they had defied/spitefully addressed us.

so that our people like flock on a pasture will hold out their hands in thanksgiving to eternity and reckon YOUR praise from ages to ages.
