Acts 13

Saul and Barnabas are now sent forth, through a prophecy 

1 Moreover, according to those who are called forth to be Prophets and Teachers in the Church of Antioch, Simeon, the Black Niger (African), and Lucious (illuminative) the Cyrenian, and Manaen, a comrade/companion with Herod tetrArch, in addition to BarNabas and (p)Saul; [Quote: all were in Jerusalem to help during famine]

2 they said, for emphasy by the Holy Spirit, now, fast even to summon to ME, BarNabas and Saul, for them to publicly operate/function (leitourgeo) for the Lord unto the work to those who are excluded/severed.

3 At the time of fasting, they make prayer and laid hands on them and fully-release them. 

Preaching in Cyprus 

4 Therefore, they are indeed, dispatched out under the Holy Spirit, and go down unto Seleucia (in syria). And, from there, they sail away to Cyprus (Mediterranean Island).

5 And they happened to be in Salamis (in Cyprus) and proclaim the word of God in the synagogue of the Jews. They also have John (Mark), (as) an Assistant Minister.

6 Moreover, having traveled through the whole Island, as far as Paphos (in Cyprus), they find a man - a certain Jewish magician and a false foreteller - whose name is BarJesus (son of Joshua);

7 who was together with Sergius Paulus, a proconsul, an intelligent man. This man summons BarNabas and Saul, craving to hear the word of God.

8 but, Elymas (wizard), a magician, (for his name is translated likewise), opposes them - seeking to distort the procosul away from Faith.

9 Saul, even also P(s)AUL was filled with the Holy Spirit, and gaze intently unto him, 

10 and says, oh son of the devil, the enemy of Justification for all, full of of all crafts and all mischiefs; will you not stop to pervert the straight way of the Lord?

11 And now behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, be blind, and you will not see the sun until a set-time. Also, despite his rich power, a dimness and darkness fall upon him, walking around seeking to be led by hand.

12 At the time, the Procosul see what has happened, he had Faith unto the Lord and was very amazed upon the teachings.

John-Mark left the team at Perga (based upon the cause of Elymas' blindness) 

13 Moreover, they sail away from Paphos (in Cyprus) and come unto Perga (capital of) Pamphilia (all tribes region of Asia/Modern Turkey). However, John (Mark) withdrew from them, for things concerning Paul and return to Jerusalem.

14 they also traveled away from Perga, and approach unto Antioch of Pisidia (in Asia minor) and they enter into a synagogue on the Sabbath day and settle down.

15 So, amid the reading of the law and prophets, the rulers of the synagogue send to them, saying, fellow-men and brethren, if there is anyone among you, that will speak word of exhortation to the people.

16 so, Paul rises up, and beckon with hand, saying, fellow men of Israelites, who fear God, listen up.

17 This God of our fathers, having chosen the people of Israel, the people who were elevated among the sojourners in the land of Egypt, and with lofty arm, they were brought out of it,

18 and like space of time of forty-years, HE bear with their behavior in the desert,

19 HE demolished seven heathen-nations in the land of Cannan (earlier name of Palestine), and gave their land as an inheritance.

20 as this thing was amid four hundreds and fifty years, they were given Judges until Prophet Samuel.

21 from there on, they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul, the son of Kish (Cis), a man from the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.

22 And having deposed him, David was raised up unto king for them, to whom even HE testified, saying, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man according to MY Heart, who will do all MY desires. (1Sam 16:12)

23 from the offspring of this man, according to the promise of God, Jesus, the Savior to Israel was brought forth.

24 John (the baptizer) had first heralded, the repentance and baptisma of the people of Isreal, in front of His face and His entrance unto everybody. 

25 however, as the carrier/course of John was being fulfilled, who do you suspect him to be? But he said, I am not He. Behold, He is coming, with whom, I am not worthy of Him, untying His sandal for me.

26 Fellow-men and brethren, the children of the kindred of Abraham, and those who reverence God within you, unto us these words of salvation is sent forth. 

27 No doubt, the dwellers of Jerusalem and their Rulers, and those who are ignorant of these things have judged Him, and the voices of the prophets, being read to everybody on Sabbath days, have been fulfilled.

28 And not even one cause/reason for death could be found in Him; so, they begged Pilate to take Him away,

29 however, as it was written, to complete all things concerning him, he was lowered from the tree, and laid in a grave.

30 but, God has raised Him out of the dead,

31 Who was seen upon many days by those who, from Galilee, came up together to Jerusalem. Some of them who are now His Witnesses to the people.

32 And we are announcing the good news of what happened to be the promise towards the fathers, to you, 

33 for God has fully accomplished these things, to us the children, having raised Jesus up; even as it was written in the second psalm, You are MY Son this day, I have begotten You. (Psalm 2:7)

34 however, having raised Him from the dead, believers/faithful ones, who are about to return unto decay/corruption, will not henceforth. Because, it was said this way: I will give the mercy/peace/Justification (divinely right-qualities) of David to you. (Is 55:3)

35 on that account, it was said even in another (Psalm); you will be given Mercy/Justification, not to see decay/corruption (Psalm 16:10)

36 for, David indeed, having served in his own generation, under the purpose/counsel of God, fell asleep, and was added towards his fathers, and saw decay/corruption.

37 however, the One Whom God has raised up did not see decay/corruption.

38 Therefore, be it well known to you, fellow-men and brethren, we are proclaiming to you that, through this Man, is the liberty/freedom from sins,

39 even from all things in which you can not be justified by the law of Moses. Everybody who have Faith in Him shall be justified.

40 Therefore, take heed, that what was said the prophets, does not to arrive/supervene upon you:

41 Behold, the despisers will disappear/be less apparent; for I will work, a work in your days, a work, to be wondered at, which you will not at all,. believe, in case, someone narrate it to you. (Hab 1:5)

The challenge in Antioch

42 however, as they are leaving/exiting, they were implored to preach these utterances (rhema) unto them even in-between the sabbath week. 

43 and, (as) the Jews unfastened the synagogue, many respected proselytes followed Paul and BarNabas, some of who they talked with, persuading them to remain in the Grace (chariti) of God.

44 So, the Sabbath day comes, and nearly all the city assemble together to hear the word of the Lord.

45 the Jews however, saw the crowd, and were filled with envy, and blaspheme by disputing the things preached by Paul, 

46 Paul and BarNabas were frank in utterances, saying, it is necessary to preach the word of God to you first; since you push it away, and you judge yourselves not deserving the everlasting Life, behold, we will turn around to the heathen-races.

47 for, the Lord has commanded us likewise: you are positioned to be a Light unto heathen-nations, and you are unto (their) salvation until the latter end of the earth. (Is 49:6)

48 so, the non-Jewish races hear the words and rejoice and as many that have Faith, magnify the Lord for being assigned unto eternal Life,

49 And through the word of the Lord, the whole region differs/is of more value

50 so the Jews, incited the foremost and respected ones even the noble/well formed women of the city, and stir up persecution upon Paul and BarNabas, even by ejecting them out from their borders.

51 and they shook off the dust of their feet upon them, and went into Iconium ("city of image" in Lycaonia of Asia minor - konya in Turkey).

52 and the disciples are fully-filled with joy of the Holy Spirit.
