Mathew 17
Mountain of metamorphosis/change
Still @ Ceasarea-Philipi
1 *And amid six days (there), Jesus brings Peter, James and John his brother close, and take them up unto a lofty mountain apart on its own.
2 He is metamorphosed/changed in front of them, and His face radiate brilliancy as it were sun, and His clothe become white as light.
3 and behold, they clearly discerned Moses and Elijah, communing together with Him,
4 Moreover, Peter answers and tells Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here, and if you desire, we will make here three tents: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
5 As he is still preaching, behold, bright clouds overshadow them and behold, a voice out of the cloud, says, This is My Beloved Son, in whom I Am well-pleased; oh listen to Him!
6 And the disciples heard and fell upon their faces, and were greatly frightened.
7 And Jesus approaches and touches them, saying, rise up, and do not be afraid.
8 So, as they raised up their eyes, they did not see anyone except Jesus only
9 And they come down from the mountain, and Jesus commands them, saying, do not tell even one thing which is of the vision to men, until the Son shall rise up from the dead.
John the Baptizer came as the expected EliJah (Ref: Mal 4:5)
10 And His disciples ask, saying, why then did the scribes say that Elijah must come first?
11 So, He answes, and says, Elijah indeed will come (first), and reconstitute all things.
12 But, I tell you, that Elijah has come already, and men did not recognize him, but they did to him as much as they chose. And likewise, the Son is about to suffer under them.
13 Then the disciples understand that He speaks to them about John the baptizer.
JESUS ministers healing to a boy, that unfaithful-disciples like Judah Iscariot could not heal
14 And as He comes towards the crowd, a man approach Him kneeling down to Him,
15 and he said, Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic/epileptic, and grievously suffer; for, he falls down often into fire, and often into water.
16 and I have carried him to your disciples, (excluding Peter, James and John) and were not able to minister-healing to him.
JESUS addresses the non-believers who are seeking for miracles without readiness to believe in Him.
17 So, Jesus answers and says, oh, unbeliever/infidel (without Christians faith) and corrupted generations, till what time will I be with you? Until what time will I put up with you? Carry him here to Me.
18 And Jesus rebukes the demon, and minister healing to him, and it get out from the boy from that very hour.
Faith is simple: Believers must be totally loyal and be thirsty for the SPIRIT of God to work wonders
19 Then, the disciples approach Jesus on their own, and they said, what is the reason why we were not able to cast it out?
20 So, He told them, because of your infidelity/disloyalty/mistrust. I tell you, for sure, in case, you have FAITH as GRAIN of MUSTARD SEED, ubto THIS things, you will speak to a mountain, oh be removed from here unto there! And it will change its place, and nothing shall be impossible for you.
Oratory Prayer and fasting of Judaists is limited
21 [# however, never at all will these country-men/race of people come outside, if it will be by instrumentality of (their) ORATORY prayer and fasting. #] (inserted from Mk 9:29)
Jesus predicted His Death and resurrection
22 So, as they return to Galilee, Jesus tells them, a man is about to betray the Son into the hands of men.
23 and they will kill Him; and He will rise up the third day. And they are greatly grieved.
Miracle money by the Spirit of counsel from Jesus, to pay tax.
@carpernaum
24 Moreover, they come to Capernaum, and those collecting two drachma approach Peter, and say, has your Teacher ever complete paying his two greek-coins?
25 He says, Yes. And as they entered into the house, Jesus start ahead of him, saying, what do you think, Simon? From whom does the king of the land, collect levy or tax? From their sons or strangers,
26 And, he says, from strangers. So, Jesus says, Arah (a heartfelt sigh to heaven) then the sons are exempted as citizens.
27 But at least, not to offend them, take a journey to the sea, throw down a HOOK and take up the fish that come up first, and open its mouth, you will find Standard value greek-coin, take that and give them for Me and you.
(note: the counsel says Hook, not Net.)
