Mathew Chapter 8

Mathew 8

The instant healing of a leper, who failed to follow Jesus' instructions (Mk1:45, Lk 5:17), like those of  Lk 17:12.

1 Moreover, as He came down from the MOUNTAIN, great crowd accompanied Him.

2 And behold, a leper (with scaly skin) approaches, and prostrate to Him, saying, Lord, in case You DESIRE, You can make me cleansed.

3 And He stretched out his hand, touching him, saying, I desire; be cleansed. Immediately, his leprosy (scaliness) was cleansed.

4 Jesus  clearly discern and told him, do not tell anyone; but go hence, and show yourself to the priest, and present the sacrifice/gift which Moses commanded, unto a testimony to them.

A non-Isrealite Centurion with big faith in Jesus possessed vast spiritual knowledge

5 Moreover, as Jesus enters into Capernaum, a Centurion (a captain of 100 soldiers) approaches Him, and beseech Him,

6 saying, Lord, my servant was being grievously tormented with palsy and throw down in the house.

7 Jesus told him, I will come, to minister healing to him.

8 but, the Centurion answered, and say, I am not worthy, at least, for You to enter under my roof, but only speak words, and my servant will be cured;

9 because, even I am a man who have soldiers under myself; and I tell one under my authority: go to this place and he goes; and to another, come, and he comes; and to a servant, do this, and he will do it.

10 having heard him, Jesus was however amazed, and told those following him, surely I tell you, I have found not even one person with so much/vast faith (persuasion) as this in Israel.

11 Moreover, I tell you, that many from the East and West will arrive here, and will sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of Heaven;

12 but, the sons will be cast out from the kingdom into darkness outside, and lamentation and grating of teeth will be there.

13 and Jesus tells the Centurion, go hence, it has happened to you, as you have faith. And his servant was cured in that hour.

Jesus ministers healing with a touch and by His word

14 And Jesus comes into Peter's house, being aware that his wife's mother is thrust down, sick of fever (high temperature);

15 so, he touched her hand, and the fever leave her; and she rises up and serve Him.

16 Moreover, it comes to be evening, and very many people who are possessed with demons were brought to Him, and the spirits were cast out by (His) words, and He minister healing (therapeuo) to all those having illness.

17 Anyhow, things spoken through prophet Isaiah (Jah saves) was fulfilled, who says, He receive those with infirmities, and lift their diseases. (Isa.53:4)

Readiness to follow Jesus

18 Moreover, as Jesus behold many crowd around Him, He ordered, to go away unto the other side.

19 And one of the scribes approach, to tell Him, Teacher, I will follow You to wherever in case, You go.

20 And Jesus told him, foxes have dens and the birds of the sky, nest; but children of Adam, does not hold on to where to lay their head.

21 Moreover, a different disciple tells Him, Lord, allow me first to go away for funeral-rite of my father.

22 but, Jesus tells him, by following Me, even your own dead-person will be let go from the buried-dead ones.

Fearless Jesus never run down His fearful disciples, but encourages them

23 And He embarked into a boat, and His disciples follow Him.

24 And behold, a great storm happened on the sea, so that the boat was covered up under the waves; but He is asleep.

25 And they approach Him to rise up, saying, Lord, we are perishing, oh save us!

26 And He told them, why are you timid/coward (lacking confidence), little-believers? Then, having risen up, He rebuked the wind on the sea, and the mega part is that, there come to be a calm.

27 and the men wondered, saying, of what sort is this, that even the wind on the sea, listen attentively to Him?

High-class and well-informed demon, present a strong reason for Its request from Jesus: (note: Gadara town is far away in the east of Jordan)

28 And He goes to the other side, at a territory, with a demon possessed  Gadarene (a man from Gadara), who is greatly, so that any-man could not pass through that way. And  furious, and as he  proceed out of a tomb, the two of them met.

29 and behold, he screamed, saying, why me and You, Son of God? Why coming here before the proper time to torment me?

(because a thousand year reign of Jesus is yet to come, the demon presented a strong reason like Hannah)

30 However, many herd of swine, which were being fed, were afar off from them.

31 And the demon beseech Him, saying, if You will cast me out, send me into the herd of swine.

32 and He told It, get lost. So, It got out, and go away into the swine: and behold, all the herd plunged down the steep bank into the sea, and died in the water.

33 But, those feeding them run away, and go into the town, and announce the event of the demon-possessed man to everyone.

34 And behold, the entire town proceed forth to meet Jesus; and having exhorted them anyhow they discern Him, and He departed from their boundary line. (ref Mk 5, Lk 8)
