Sermon on the mountain continues... 

The place of justification and mercy when you are judging others. 

1 Never judge, at least not to be judged:

2 because, by whichever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and by whichever measure you mete out, it will be meted out again to you.

3 Moreover, why are you looking at dry-straw in the eye of your brother, but do not observe/notice the beam in your eye?

4 or, in what way will you tell your brother: let me eject the dry-straw from your eye; and behold, what a beam, in your eye!

5 you, hypocrites, first, eject the timber out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove dry-straw from your brother's eye.

A Caution on showing mercy

6 Never give dogs (kuon) holy things, nor throw your pearl/bead before swine. So as not to trample on it by their feet, and turn back, to tear you into pieces at any time. 

Do things to others as much as you want them to do for you. 

7 Ask (crave), and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 

8 No doubt, everyone who ask, should receive; and those who seek should find; even to the one who knock, it should be opened up.

9 or, which man is there from you, whom his son will ask him for bread, and will ever give stone?

10 or even ask him for a fish; and will he ever offer his son serpent?

11 Therefore, if you are aware of giving good gifts even to your evil sons, how much more your FATHER Who is in heaven will give good things (agatha) to those who ask HIM?

12 Therefore, as long as you, at least desire men to do things for you, even you should do things for them likewise. Because, all of these things are of the law and the prophets.

Salvation-gate is a narrow gate because Jesus is the only gateway for billions of people in the entire world. 

13 Enter through the narrow gate, because wide gate and spacious road lead into destruction/damnation, and very many are those entering through it.

14 few are those who find the road leading into zoe-Life because its gate is narrow, and they will be oppressed.

Beware of wide-gate with plenty impostors

15 Beware of the impostors/false-prophets, some of who will come to you in sheep clothing, but inwardly they are from the wolf of the plunderer.

16 from their fruits, you will recognize them. How will you, whether at all, gather grapes out of thorns, or figs out of burdock/thistle?

17 the same way all good trees will produce beautiful/virtuous fruits; corrupt trees also, will produce vicious fruits.

18 A good tree cannot produce vicious fruit; not even will corrupted tree, produces virtuous fruits.

19 all trees that do not produce virtuous fruits will be cut down and be thrown into fire.

20 Arah (a heartfelt cry lifted to heaven), out of their fruits, you will recognize them.

The lot of unfaithful/backsiders like Judah Iscariot

21 Not everyone that calls Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but those, doing the desire of My FATHER, Who is in heaven.

22 Many will tell Me in that day, didn't (we) prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name? 

23 and then I will profess to them, you  never absolutely know Me. Depart away from engaging in lawlessness/illegality.

Conclusion of the sermon: Be both hearer and doer

24 Therefore, everyone, who will hear these words of Mine, and do them, resemble a thoughtful/discreet man, who build his house upon a rock,

25 and rain descend, and flood come, and wind (anemos) blow, and beat upon that house; and it does not fall, because, it is founded upon the rock.

26 But, everyone who hear these words of Mine, but do not do them, resemble a heedless/blockheaded man. (moros), who build his house upon sand;

27 and rain fall down, even flood comes, and wind blows, and beat upon that house, and it falls - and great shall be the crash of it.

28 And it happened, as soon as Jesus ended these words, the crowd were amazed upon His teaching,

29 because, He has been teaching them as the One who has authority, and not as their scribes.
