Mathew 6

Sermon on the mountain continues... 

Give only God the glory on your work of agape-Love

1 Moreover, pay attention to your JUSTIFICATION. Do not obey in front of men, (or) towards being seen by them; however, if otherwise, you will have no reward with your Father in heaven.

2 therefore whenever you perform alms giving /merciful deeds, never sound a trumpet before you, as hypocrites would do in the synagogue and in the streets, in a manner to have glory from men. Surely, I tell you, they have received their reward.

3 But you, in doing alms-giving, never should your left hand know what your right hand is doing. 

4 your alms-giving should be in the secret; and in this manner, your Father, who sees in the secret, will reward you [openly].

5 and whenever you make prayer, do not be like hypocrites, that are fond of standing to make prayer in the synagogues and in the street corners, so as to be seen (by) men. I tell you, and so shall it be, they have received their reward.

6 But you, whenever you make prayer, enter into your chamber, and shut your door, make prayer to your Father, in secret; and your Father, who is looking in the secret, will reward you [openly].

7 Also, in making prayer, never prate-tediously/use many idle vain words like the heathen people; who indeed think that, to be heard is in their much-speaking (loquacity).

8 therefore, never resemble them; because, your Father God is aware of the things, which you have need of, before asking it from HIM. 

A prayer template to correct the wrong prayer of the hypocrites:

9 therefore, make your prayer, in this manner: our FATHER, WHO is in heaven, YOUR NAME is made Holy/consecrated.

10 let YOUR kingdom come; and let Your desire come into being upon earth, as it is, in heaven. 

11 Give us today, our daily-provisions of loaves of bread. 

12 and forgive our debts (faults), as we also let go of our debtors. 

13 but, deliver us, away from the vicious one, and we will not be brought into temptation. [+ For YOURS , is the kingdom and the Power and the Glory unto ages. Amen.+]

(quote: Only evil ones lead into temptation, not God) 

14 because, in case, you forgive/let men go of their faults (side slip), your heavenly FATHER (will) also forgive you.

15 but in case, you never let go of men (of their faults), not even your Father will let go of your faults.

Do all for God's Glory:

Fasting 

16 Moreover, whenever you fast, never become like the hypocrites, whose faces are downcast, for they disfigure their faces, so as to be seen by men to be fasting. I tell you, so shall it be, they have receive their reward in full.

17 But as you are fasting, apply oil to your head, and wash your face;

18 But not in a manner to show to men to be fasting, and your FATHER, Who is in secret, even your Father who sees in the secret, will reward you [openly]. 

Possession of wealth 

19 Never should you, amass treasure upon the earth, where messy house-flies ravage food, even where thieves break in and steal;

20 but you are to amass treasure in heaven, where there is neither messy-worms nor ravaging of food, where thieves don't break in, not even to steal.

21 Because, where your treasure is, even there, will your heart be.

The place of the eye and mind 

22 A lamp is for the eyes of the body; in case, your eyes were complete, then, your whole body will be bright/illuminated.

23 But, in case your eyes were obscured/gloomy, the whole of your body will be in darkness. If then, the light in you is for evil things, how much things of darkness will be (in you)!

The place of money and anxiety for it

24 No man can be a slave to two lords; because, either he will detest one, and Love the other kind; or be devoted to one, and despise the other type. It is not possible to serve God and mammona (money deified).

25 Because of this, I tell you, do not be anxious about your soul; what to eat or what to drink; not even what to put on your body. Is the soul not more excellent than food/nourishment, and the body more than clothing?

26 closely observe birds of the sky, that do not sow, neither harvest, not even gather together into barn - and your heavenly FATHER is feeding them. Are you not in greater degree surpass/differ from them?

27 However, who from you, by being anxious, can add one fore-arm (cubit) upon his full-stature?

28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider how the lilies of the field grow; they neither work-hard nor even spin (wool).

29 yet, I tell you that, not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned/arrayed like one of these.

30 so, if vegetables of the field, which exist today, and by tomorrow, they are thrown into oven are in that way, will God not much more, clothe you, you, little-believers (still lacking in confidence)? 

31 therefore, do not be anxious, by saying, what shall you eat? Or what to drink? Or what to wear?

32 because, the heathen-nations crave after all these things, and your heavenly FATHER is aware that you are in need of absolutely all of these things.

33 however, first of all, seek the kingdom of God and HIS JUSTIFICATION, and even all those things will be added to you.

34 therefore, do not be anxious of what will be sufficient for tomorrow; because, to be anxious of the same things (which are) for the next-day is something harmful unto yourself today.
