Mathew Chapter 5

Mathew 5

Sermon on the mountain starts -

1 Moreover, having seen the crowd, He goes up unto the mountain; and He sat down as His disciples/learners come close to Him,

2 and He opens His mouth, to teach them, saying;

The blessedness upon certain group of people who receive the gospel.

3 Supremely blessed are the poor men, because, by instrumentality of the SPIRIT, theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (note:  "the Poor people " are more gospel receptive)

4 Supremely blessed are the ones grieving, because they shall be consoled:

5 Supremely blessed are the humble, because they shall inherit the earth.

6 Supremely blessed are those who hunger and thirst for JUSTIFICATION,  because they shall be satisfied.

7 Supremely blessed are the merciful, because they shall receive mercy:

8 Supremely blessed are those with clean heart, because they have discerned God.

9 Supremely blessed are the peacemakers (pacificator/peace negotiator), because they are inviting/calling out the children of God.

10 Supremely blessed are those persecuted on account of JUSTIFICATION, because the kingdom of heaven is theirs:

11 Supremely blessed are you, whenever you are reproached, and persecuted, and everybody speak hurtful words falsely against you, for My sake;

12 rejoice even by jumping up for joy, in that your rewards is very many in heaven; because, Prophets before you were persecuted likewise.

13 You are the salt (sweet and preserver) of the earth, in case salt loses its savour, by instrumentality of what can it be salted? It is unto nothing-good any longer, if at all, it is to be thrown outside and trampled under men's feet.

14 You are the light of the world, a city set up above a hill can not be hidden.

15 You will never light a lamp and put it under a measuring module - but upon lampstand - for it to give light to everyone in the house.

16 (thus) shine your light this way before men, anyhow, they will discern your virtuous deeds, and glorify your FATHER in heaven.

Inadequacies in outgoing law of Moses (Torah) versus incoming Perfect law of Agape-Love

17 never suppose that I have come to abolish the Law or the things of the Prophets; I have not come to abolish, but to complete/fulfill its objective.

18 because, I tell you, and so shall it be (amen): until the sky and earth possibly pass away, one iota, or the least one, from the law, will not, at all, pass away, till everything, possibly come into being.

19 therefore, whosoever that break one of the least of these commandments - and teach men likewise, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; and whoever also possibly practice and teach these things, shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 for, I tell you, in case Justification has not superabound to you above/more than the Scribes and the Pharisees, you will never, enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Attempted-sin is already a sin; sin is not until when you carried it out.

21 you heard that, it was said of OLD Time, do not murder; and whoever possibly murder, is liable to judgment.(Ref: Ex 20:13, Deut 5:17)

22 but I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his brother, gratis/without a reason, will be subjected to judgment (crisis): so, by possibly saying to his brother, you, who is block-headed/heedless (moron), he will be subjected to Jewish Sahendrin; and also, to have possibly said, you, who is empty-headed/worthless (rhaca), he will be subjected unto gehenna fire. (ref: Satan and Job

what, the wisdom in the law of Agape-Love will settle, the provision in the law of Moses has complicated it.

23 Therefore, in case you bring forward your gift (doro) upon the altar, and  you remember there, that you hold on to anything in respect to your brother,

24 leave your gift there, before the altar, and go away to first of all, be reconciled to your brother; and by the time you come, you can offer your gift.

AGAPE-LOVE makes you smarter by saving you from trouble.

25 quickly be of good-mind/be in agreement with your opponent, during and while you are on the way with him; so that, never at any time, will your opponent deliver you to the Judge, and (from) the Judge to the officer, and you will be thrown into prison;

26 surely/amen  I tell you, you will not  proceed out from there, until you possibly pay his last quadrans (small Roman coin-fourth part of an ass).

27 you heard that it was said [of old], do not commit adultery: (Ref: Ex20:14, Deut 5:18)

28 however, I tell you, that everyone who look at a woman/a wife, towards coveting/lusting after her, has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Mandatory nature of having faith in Jesus (Matt 18:8-9)

29 Therefore, if your right eye would entice you to apostasy (to scandalize), pluck it out and throw it away from you; because, it is good at least to fully-destroy one part of your body, and not your whole body to be thrown into gehenna. (valley of Hinnom for everlasting punishment).

30 and if your right hand would entice you to apostasy (to scandalize), cut it and throw it away from you, because it is good for you, at least, to fully-destroy one limb of your body, and not your whole body to be thrown into Gehenna.

Divorce without documentation

31 Moreover, it was said, whoever possibly divorce his wife, should give her a WRITING/DOCUMENT of divorcement (something separative);

32 however, I tell you, that all who divorce their wives, except for matter/words of harlotry (adultery, incest, fornication), will make her to commit adultery; and whoever, having divorced (his wife), got married, has committed adultery. (note: this separation is without the document of divorce, so the marriage is still intact under the law)

Oath is prohibited for Christians

33 Again, you have heard that it was said unto the people of old (ancient time), do not swear falsely; and pay your oaths to the Supreme God.

34 Notwithstanding, I tell you, do not swear at all; neither by instrumentality of heaven, because, it is the throne of God;

35 nor, by the earth, because, it is the stool of His feet; not even unto Jerusalem, because it is the city of the greatest (mega) King;

36 neither must you swear by your head, because, you can not create one white or black hair.

37 but, your words must be, YES , (if) yes, and NO, (if) no; and anything beyond this, is out of evil.

Advice for a Christian who has issue with a vicious/an evil task-master

[Note: the context progresses from verses 38-40]

38 You have heard that, it was said, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth; (Ref: Ex 21:24, Lev 24:20, Deut 19:21).

39 however, I tell you, do not resist/oppose a vicious-person who slap you in your right cheek. On the contrary, turn around the other also to him;

40 and having received a thing and the one is willing to sue you (judge you) leave your shirt/over-coat and your inner-dress for him;

41 and the one who will grab/compel you for public-service to one mile, go with him two (miles).

(note: this wisdom will turn your supposed-guilt into innocence)

42 Give to anyone asking from you; and the one who desire to borrow from you, never turn him down.

Selfless Agape-Love is redefined well

43 you have heard, it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. (Ref: Lev 19:18)

44 however, I tell you, selflessly-Love your enemy, and make prayer for the sake of those who persecute you. [+speak well of those who curse you, do virtuous things to those who hate and threaten you+]. (note:the addition is from Lk 6:28, you must make prayer to beset the curse).

45 Anyhow, happen to be the children (uihois) of your FATHER in heaven. Because, His Sun rise/dawn on the vicious and the good ones, and HE send rain upon the Righteous and the unrighteous.

46 because, in case you Love those who Love you, what reward will you have? Are tax collectors not indeed doing the same?

47 and in case you greet only your brothers, what do you do more excellent? Are the heathen (tax collectors) not indeed doing the same?

48 Therefore, you should be mature/perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.
