MATHEW Chapter 4

Mathew 4

JESUS was tempted by satan through devils after 40 days journey of 40 days fasting 

1 At a time, Jesus was led up under the SPIRIT into the desert, because He will be tested by the devil.

2 and having fasted/abstain from food for forty days, at the last night of the forty, He was hungry. 

3 and He was visited by the tempter, who said to Him, if You are Son of God, speak, at least to these stones to become loaves of bread.

4 But, he answered, and speaks: it is written, man shall not live upon bread only, but upon all utterances (rhema) proceeding out of the mouth of God. (Ref: Deut 8:3)

5 At a time, the devil receives/accept Him into the Holy city, and set Him upon the winglet/flat appendage of the temple:

6 and said to Him, if You are the Son of God, throw Yourselves downward, for, it is written: HIS Angels are commanded concerning You, even to lift You up on their hands, because, never at any time, will Your foot be struck towards stone. (Ref: Ps 91:11,12) [note: devil is indirectly tempting God] 

7 Jesus make HIS thoughts known to IT again; it is written, you must not tempt the SUPREME Jehovah of all Elohim. (Ref: Deut 6:16)

8 Again, devil accept/receive Him into very lofty mountain, and show Him all the kingdoms of the world (cosmos), even with their glory,

9 and told Him, all these will be given to You, provided You fall down, and worship me.

10 Then, Jesus told IT, satan, depart/get lost. No doubt, it was written, worship (prostrate/adore) Jehovah of all Elohim, and serve/minister to only HIM. (Ref: Deut 6:13). 

11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, Angels draw near and wait upon/attend to Him.

Jesus preaches in Galilee 

12 However, having heard that John was delivered up, He withdrew into Galilee (heathen region):

13 and abandon Nazareth, to come and reside (as a permanent house) in Capernaum, upon the sea coast, in the boundary line of Zebulun and Naphtali;

14 at least to fulfill the utterances through prophet Isaiah, who says,

15 by the sea route,  across Jordan, to the heathen-Nations of Galilee and the Land of Zebulun and Naphtali;

16 people who sit down in darkness, discern great (mega) Light, and those sitting down, even in territory of the shadow of death, Light arise/dawn on them. (Ref: Is 9:1,2). 

17 from that time, Jesus commences to preach and to say, repent, for the kingdom of heaven is approaching.

Four fishermen were called

18 Moreover, walking close to sea of Galilee, He stares at two brothers; Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, who were throwing net into the sea; indeed they have been fishermen.

19 And He told them, come here behind Me and I will make you fisherman of human beings.

20 So, they left their nets immediately, and follow Him.

21 And going forward from there, He stares at two other brothers who were mending their nets: James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father; and He calls them.

22 they also left their boat and their father immediately and followed Him.

JESUS teaches, preaches and heals in Galilee:

23 and He was taken around the whole of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good-message of the kingdom, and ministering healing to all diseases and debility in people.

24 and His report go round into all Syria (Tyre in Asia), and they continue to bring to Him all the sick who have divers of diseases and torments from oppression of demons  and craziness (mooning) from palsy: and He ministers healing to them.

25 And a very many crowds follow Him from Galilee and Decapolis (a league of ten-cities in Syria), and Jerusalem and Judea, and across Jordan.
