Chapter 3
The roles of John the baptizer:
1 Moreover, in those days, John the Baptizer approached Judea and proclaimed in the desert,
2 saying, repent, for the kingdom of heaven is approaching.
3 No doubt, this is the one spoken of, under prophet Isaiah, saying, the one shouting in the desert, a voice, that is preparing/making ready the way of the Lord; making HIS path level/straight. (Isaiah 40:3)
4 however, he has, as his garment/robe, a hairy-hides/skin of carmel and a belt around his waist, and his food had been, wild-locusts and honey.
5 At that time, all the Judeans in Jerusalem and all regions around Jordan, proceeded towards him,
6 and they were baptized (fully wet) in river-Jordan under him, confessing (say out) their sins.
7 Moreover, Pharisees and Sadducees were aware and come up to his baptism. So, he told them, who showed you, to flee from the future wrath upon many of the offsprings who are of the poisonous-serpent from birth?
8 therefore, produce worthy-fruits of (your) repentance.
9 and as said, you, who have Abraham as a father, I tell you, think of this thing yourselves: that God WHO can raised up children (teckna) out from Abraham is not in stone.
10 Moreover, toward everyone lying outstretched, even right now, be producing virtuous fruits, and you will not be a tree to be cut down by the root (with) an axe and then the tree will be thrown into the fire.
11. I, indeed, baptize you in water unto repentance; however, He that is coming behind me is Mighty/Powerful to me, Who, I am not a competent one, that He will lift His sandal for; He will baptize you (make you whelmed) in Holy SPIRIT [and in Fire].
12 in Whose Hand, His wheats will be thoroughly cleansed up/purged and gathered together into His storehouse. However, the chaff/grains-integuments (illegal allegation from traducers), and sputum/spittle on hardened-threshing floor, will be burnt down in His unquenchable (asbeston) FIRE.
John baptized (purify) Jesus Christ in water
13 At this time, Jesus arrives Jordan from Galilee, toward John, to be baptized under him.
14 but (John) forbid him, saying, I have need to be baptized under You, so why are You coming to me?
15 However, Jesus answered, telling him, let it be like this for now; because, it is right/proper for me to fulfill all things towards JUSTIFICATION. Then, he leaves it so.
GOD baptized (purify) Jesus Christ in HOLY SPIRIT
16 also, having been baptized (fully immersed in water), Jesus immediately goes up out of the water; and behold, heaven opens up, and the SPIRIT of God was clearly discerned, descending as it were a pigeon, and come upon Him.
17 and behold, a voice from heaven, says, this is MY well beloved Son, in whom I AM well pleased.
