Acts 11

In-house defence of anti-Judaism vision of Apostle Peter 

1 Moreover, the Apostles and Brethren who are in Judea heard that the heathen-nations also have accepted the words of God.

2 so, when Peter went up to Jerusalem, those of circumcision were dissecting it with him,

3 saying, he entered in, towards men who hold on to uncircumcision, and eat with them.

4 but, Peter began to expound it to them thereafter, saying,

5 I had been in the City of Joppa, making prayer, and I discern in a trance (ecstasy), a vision of four certain persons of ancient time, descending and as though, a great equipment was let down with a linen sheet from the sky, and come as far as to me,

6 unto which I look intently to fully observe, and I saw four-footed animals, wild-beasts, and reptiles of the land and birds of the sky.

7 Moreover, I heard a voice telling me, Peter, rise up, kill and eat.

8 So, I said, no way, Supreme Lord, because common or unclean things, has never at any time entered into my mouth.

9 the voice from heaven also answered the second time, what God has cleansed, you don't regard common/profane.

10 this also happened upon three times, and absolutely all were taken up again unto heaven.

Grace of God extended to Gentiles through Peter

11 And behold, three fellow-men, sent from Caesarea towards me, stand upon the house in which I was,

12 And the SPIRIT told me, go with them, dissect through nothing. However, I went together with SIX brethren, and we entered into the house of that man,

13 And, he announced to us, how he discerned an Angel in his house, who stood still and said, send to Joppa, and summon Simon, who is called Peter;

14 who will preach to you, the utterances (rhema) by which you and all your households shall be saved.

15 as I began to preach, the Holy Spirit embrace/fell upon them, just as HE is upon us at the early stage.

16 Moreover, remember the Utterances of John, as he said, I indeed baptized in water, the Lord will baptize you by the Holy-SPIRIT. (Matt 3:11, Mk 1:8, Lk 3:16, Jh 1:33)

17 therefore, if God gives equal gift to them, as even to us, who believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ, who am I, to stop the Powerful God?

18 so, having heard these things, they were quiet unto repentance and glorify God, Ara (a heartfelt gratitude lifted to heaven), saying, God has also given Zoe-Life to the Gentiles.

Barnabas was sent to Antioch 

19 Therefore, those who were scattered (in foreign land) from persecution, generated over Stephen, travelled as far as Phoenicia (palm country), and Cyprus Island, and Antioch, preaching the word indeed to no one except the Jews only.

20 but, there were certain men from Cyprus and Cyrenean, some of who came into Antioch, and they preached even to the Hellenist (Grecians), proclaiming the gospel of the Lord Jesus,

21 And the hand of the Lord was with them; in addition the number of those who believed and turned over to the Lord are very many.

22 So, the account concerning them was heard in the ears of the Church in Jerusalem, and BarNabas (son of inspired prophecy) was dispatched to travel, up to Antioch.

23 who arrived and rejoiced to discern the grace of God. He exhorted everybody to abide further in the Lord with their heart on the purpose.

24 because, good fellow men, who are full of the Holy Spirit and faith, even competent multitudes have been added unto the Lord. 

Smart Barnabas brought Saul from Tarsus to Antioch (cont. from Act 9:30)

25 So, he proceeds forth to Tarsus to seek for Saul,

Prophet Agabus prophecied or divinely instructed Christianos or followers of Christ, for the fist time in Antioch (note: there is nothing special in antioch other than the office of a prophet coming up for the first time in Christiandom) 

26 And having found him, he was brought to Antioch. Moreover, they happened to assemble together and teach the multitude, even for a whole year. In addition, the Christianos (followers of Christ) in Antioch are the first competent disciples in the Church (called out ones) to be divinely instructed (by prophecy).

27 so, on that day, a Prophet came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

28 And one person out of them stood up, Agabus by name, and indicated/signified through the Spirit, (that) a great famine is about to exist upon the whole habitable land - some of which happened upon Claudius (as Caesar).

The first time, BarNabas and Saul will dispatch relief materials to Jerusalem

29 So, certain disciples just as they have been prospered, each of them pre-determined unto a ministry of relief service, to be dispatched to brethren dwelling in Judea.

30 which they did, and sent to the Elders, through the hands of BarNabas and Saul.
