Act 20

PAUL's tour of Greece (Achaia) again; and his Jewish people as the thorns in his flesh.

1 Moreover, with the uproar/tumult stopped, Paul summoned the disciples, having encouraged and saluted them, he travels and will proceed forth unto Macedonia (in Greece) 

2 so, by traveling through Greece (Hellas), he came to many of those Sections (local-assembly), and they are encouraged by the words,

3 (as) it becomes three months, and he was about to sail to Syria, a plot was made upon him by the Jews, so, there happened to be an opinion to return through Macedonia,

4 Moreover, a Berean: Sopaster (of safe father) Pyrrhus (fire like) and Thessalonicans: Aristarchus and Secundus, Gaius of Derbe, also the Asians: Tychicus (fortunate) and Trophimus (nutritive) and Timothy are to travel to join him.

5 However, those ones will go before us, and they will stay in the plain of Troas (in Asia);

6 So, we sail away from Philipi, for up to five days, amid the days of unleavened bread, and went to them in Troas; where we tarry for seven days.

Paul in company of his co-workers and during a very long exhortation on Sunday, in Troas; the soul of a dead young man restored 

7 Moreover, in day one of Sabbath week (sunday), we assemble together to break bread, Paul discusses with them, and intend to leave upon the next day, in addition, he prolonged the words until midnight.

8 Also, there are lamps in the upper room, where competent ones are gathered, 

9 however, a certain youth, named Eutychus (well fated), sit down upon the window and was weighed-down by deep drowsiness, and upon Paul, discussing more things, he fell down from the third story, from being weighed-down by the sleep, and was lifted-up dead.

10 So, Paul stepped down, embraced him, and earnestly throw arms around him, saying, don't be troubled, for, his soul, is in him.

11 so, he climbed up, and break the bread, and upon eating, he converse in company with competent ones in this way until daybreak, and proceed forth.

12 however, they brought the child alive, and they were comforted, not a little.

Preaching in Miletus

13 Moreover, we went ahead upon ship, by sailing away over to Assos (in Asia) and we intend to pick him up from there. Paul arranged it in this way, because he intends to travel by land.

14 as, deliberated, we come unto Assos to pick him up unto Mitylene (Island of Lesbos full of shellfish);

15 and from there, compared to holding on to Island of Chios (Mediterranean Island); we set sail to arrive, the following day, at another, unto Island of Samos, (and stay in Trogyllium) even to come unto Miletus (Asia city) opposite it.

16 for Paul has decided to sail near Ephesus and, anyhow it happens, he will not waste time in Asia; for, he is diligent/prompt to be powerful, if he will happens to be in Jerusalem unto Pentecost day (fiftieth day from Passover).

Paul invited Ephesians Elders to meet him at nearby Miletus unto appraisal of his ministry in Ephesus and his pastoral counsel

17 Moreover, from Miletus, he dispatch to Ephesus, and summons the Elders of the church.

18 Also, as they come to him, he tells them, you understand from the first day, away from which I embark unto Asia, and how I happened to be with you, for all the space of time,

19 serving the Lord with humbled-mind, and tears, and trials that befell me in the plot/ambush of all the Jews;

20 as I kept back nothing profitable, (which is) not declared to you, even by teaching you publicly, and with respect to your houses.

21 strongly testifying to the Jews and the Greeks, the repentance (reversal of decision) unto God, and Faith unto our Lord, Jesus.

22 Now, I will travel unto JERUSALEM, not knowing the things which will happen. And, by the SPIRIT, I discern being bound in her.

23 Besides, the Holy-Spirit, fully testify to me, saying that, there is chain and afflictions for me, staying back in the city

24 but, not even one word will make mine own soul precious to me, as to finishing my race, and the ministry which I receive from the Lord Jesus, to fully-testify the good-messsage of the Grace of God.

25 And now, behold, I am aware that you all (may) no longer see my face, among whom I have traveled, proclaiming the Kingdom.

26 on this account, I testify to you this day, that I will be clean from the blood of all, on the day. 

27 for, I didn't at all, retract/keep back, to proclaim all the counsel/will of God to you.

Bishopric advice of Paul

28 pay attention to yourselves and to all the church, among whom, Holy Spirit has placed you as Overseers, to shepherd the church of God which is acquired through the blood of His Own (Son).

29 Amid my entering in, I am aware of the arrival of grievous wolves, unto you, who will not spare the flock,

30 even out of your fellow-men, they will stand up, preaching to distort, and drag away disciples behind themselves.

31 Because of this, stay awake, remember that for the space of three years, I did not stop for one day and night to admonish every one amid tears. 

32 And now I present to you, even the word of God by HIS (abundant) Grace, which can build (you) up and give you inheritance among all consecrated ones.

33 I did not covet even silver or gold or clothing of anyone,

34 HE, absolutely knows my needs, and of those who are with me, to be subordinates to this hand.

35 I exemplified to you in everything, that, you must likewise work hard to help the weak ones. In addition, remember the account of the Lord Jesus that says to them: it is more supremely blesed to give than to receive. (Matt 10:42)

36 And having said these, he lay down on his knees, together with all of them and make prayer.

Sincere emotional kiss from sincere selfless-love

37 Moreover, there happens to be weeping by all the competent ones; and they fell upon the neck of Paul, and kiss him earnestly.

38 they sorrow especially, upon the words he has spoken, that, they (may) no longer see his face. However, they see him off, unto the ship.
