Acts 21

Several Warnings against Paul's journey to Jerusalem 

1 We sail away, and as we happen to detach/be pulled away from them, we go in a straight course unto COS (Mediterranean Island), and next day unto Rhodes Island (rose), and from there unto Patara (in Asia).

2 And we find a boat passing over to Phoenicia (palm country), we embark and set sail.

3 however, Cyprus (Mediterranean Island) appeared, and having left it behind by the left, we sail unto Syria, and come down at TYRE, because the ship will be there to unload the cargoes.

4 Moreover, we stay over in this place for seven days, and find disciples, some of who told Paul through the Spirit, not to go up to Jerusalem.

Paul always makes prayer while departing from the brethren

5 but, when we accomplish the days, we proceed forth to travel and everybody, together with wives and children, see us off, as far as outside the city, and we lay down on our knees upon the shore, to make prayer,

6 having saluted one another, we climbed up unto the ship; and those ones return unto their own (home).

7 have finished through our voyage from Tyre, we arrived unto Ptolemis (in Palestine), to salute the brethren, and abide with them for one day.

Another warning from prophet Agabus

8 Also, upon the morning of next day, we proceed forth, and came to Caesarea; and enter into the house of Philip, the Evangelist (a preacher of gospel). He is out from the seven (deacons), and we stay with him.

9 also there are four unmarried daughters of this man, who prophesy.

10 And a certain Prophet also from Judea, named Agabus came down to stay over for many days.

11 and he came to us, to lift up the belt of Paul, and bind the feet and hands of himself, saying, thus says the Holy Spirit, the man, to whom is this belt, will be bound in this way, by the Jews in Jerusalem, and be surrendered into the hands of the gentiles.

12 as we hear this, we and the residents of that place beseech him, not to go up to Jerusalem.

13 At this time, Paul answered, what are you doing? Why weeping and breaking my heart? For, I am not only to be bound, but hold on to the readiness to die in Jerusalem, for the Name of the Lord Jesus.

14 However, having said, the desire/will of the Lord will happen, we kept quiet, not to persuade him.

15 so, amid these days, we packed our baggage, and go up to Jerusalem.

16 Also, even the disciples from Caesarea gather together, and bring Mnason together with us, a certain Cyprian and an early disciple, with whom we will lodge.

Paul is now in Jerusalem against the warning

17 so, we happen to be in Jerusalem, and the Brethren gladly receive us.

18 Moreover, on the following day, Paul entered together with us towards Jacob/James and all the Elders came near.

19 and having greeted them, one person guide with respect to what God has done in each heathen-race, through their ministry.

20 so, those who hear, glorify God. In addition, they tell him, Brother, you will see how large are the myriads of the Jews, who were all zealous subordinates in (Moses) law and have believed.

21 but they have been indoctrinated concerning you, that you teach apostasy (defection) away from Moses, by telling the heathen-races not to circumcise their children, nor walk according to all the customs of the Jews. 

22 what is it then? They will altogether hear that you have come.

23 therefore, do that, which we will tell you, there are four fellow-men with us, who have vow upon themselves.

24 Associate with these men and be purified with them, and bear the expenses for them, at least for shaving of the head; and all will know that, what they are indoctrinated with, concerning you is nothing, but you walk orderly and keep the law (of Moses). 

25 Moreover, concerning those gentiles who believed, we have communicated by letter, having decided that, they should isolate from things offered to idol, and blood and strangled animals, and sexual immoralities.

Paul was arrested in Jerusalem temple by the Jewish-thorns in his Jewish-flesh 

26 At the time, Paul associates with the men, who were being purified, to have the days with them; having declared the completion of purification days, they entered into the temple, until sacrifice is offered up for every one of them.

27 As seven days is about to be completed, the Jews from Asia, look closely at him in the temple, and stirred up all the crowd to lay hands upon him, 

28 screaming, fellow men of Israelites, help! This is the man who is teaching all the people everywhere, against the law, and against this place; and still brings in Greeks into the temple to defile this holy place.

29 for, they have previously noticed Trophimus (nutritive), an Ephesian, together with him in the city, whom they suppose that Paul brought into the temple.

30 in addition, they stirred up/move (kineo) the whole city, and generate riotous (syndrome of) people to seize Paul, and drag him outside the temple, and immediately shut the door, 

31 seeking to kill him, for the whole Jerusalem was in trouble. So, the expression ascended to the Chiliarch (a commander of thousand) of the band/spiral squad, 

32 which, the ChiliArch received, and the Centurion and the soldiers immediately run down upon them, and having seen the soldiers, they stop beating Paul.

33 then, the ChiliArch drew near and lay hold on him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains, and question who he is, and what he has done.

34 as others are shouting at some others in the crowd, he cannot know the certainty because of the uproar. He commands him to be brought into the barrack.

35 moreover, when he happens to be upon the staircase, it transpired that, he has to be carried by the soldiers, because of the violence of the people.

36 for, they lift him up, as the multitude of people who follow, are screaming.

Paul introduces himself to the Commander in Jerusalem 

37 in addition, as he was about to be brought into the barrack, Paul says to the Chiliarch, is it right if I say something to you? And should I make my thoughts known to you in Grecian language?

38 Ara (a heartfelt concerns lifted to heaven), are you not the Egyptian, who before this day, turned this place upside down and led four thousands dagger-men/hitmen (outlawed Jewish fanatic men) into the desert?

39 Paul says, howbeit, I am indeed a Jew, a man of Tarsus in Cilicia (in Asia minor), a citizen of "not an insignificant city" . However, I beg you, to permit me to preach to the people.

40 so, having permitted him, Paul, stood upon the staircase and beckon with hands to the people; so, many become silent, and he addressed them in Hebrew dialect, saying...
