Acts 9

The first visit and exhortation of the Lord Jesus to Saul/Paul on Damascus road

1 Moreover, Saul was still breathing out threat/menace and murder towards the Lord's disciples, so he approaches the high priest,

2 and ask a letter from him, unto Damascus, towards the synagogues, in case anybody is found on the WAY, be it men and women, to bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

3 however as he journeyed, he happened to be close to Damascus (Syria city), suddenly, a light shine all around him from the sky, 

4 and he fell down upon the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecuting Me?

5 so, he says, who are you ? I am the Lord Jesus, Whom you are persecuting {it is hard for you to kick towards a sting}. 

# {trembling and stupefied, the Lord said, what I want you to do}

6 is to stand up and enter into the city, but what you MUST do, will be preached to you.

7 Moreover, the fellow-men who traveled with him stand still speechless, they indeed hear the voice, but seeing no man.

8 So, Saul rose up from the ground, and open his eyes, and did not see anything. However, he was led by hand, and brought into Damascus.

9 And he was for three days without seeing things and he neither eat nor drink.

Bro Ananiah came to complete the Lord's message to Paul/Saul

10 Moreover, a certain disciple has been in Damascus, Ananias by name. And behold, the Lord says to him in a vision, Ananias and he says, my Lord.

11 So, the Lord says to him, arise immediately, and go upon the street, and seek in the house of Judah, Saul of Tarsus by name whom, I have called. No doubt, you will see him making prayer,

12 and he has seen a man in a vision, Ananias by name, entering and laying hands upon him anyhow, to recover his sight.

13 but, Ananias answered the Lord, I heard from many about this fellow man, how much evil he did to Your holy-saints in Jerusalem.

14 And has authority from high-priest to come here, to bind all who call on Your Name.

15 And the Lord says to him, Go, because this man is a chosen instrument, to carry My Name before heathen nations, and even to KINGS of the children of Israel:

16 for, I will show him, as much as he must suffers for the sake of My Name.

17 So, Ananias goes away, and enters into the house; and lay hand upon him, and says, Brother Saul, the Lord sends me. Jesus, Who you discerned on the road, in which you came, that you will receive your sight anyhow and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

18 And immediately, a thing like a scale, fell off from his eyes, and he recovered his sight, and arise, and he was baptized (with holy spirit). 

Paul ministry in Damascus and (P)Saul first message in their synagogue

19 and he takes food and get strengthened. Moreover, he happened to be with disciples in Damascus for some days, 

20 And in the synagogue, he proclaims Jesus immediately, that, He is the Son of God.

21 So, everybody who heard him were amazed and say, is this not the one who ravage those who call on this Name in Jerusalem? And has come here, at least to bind, and carry them before the high-priests.

22 but, Saul was rather empowered and the Jews dwelling in Damascus were perplexed, for he is knitting things together that, this is the Christ.

Saul, first escape of death, through the city wall of Damascus 

23 Moreover, as though (his) days are fulfilled, the competent Jews plotted together to kill him,

24 So, Saul got to know their plot. And they are closely watching the gates, day and night, to kill him anyhow;

25 however, disciples took him by night, and lower him down through the wall, and they let him down in a woven-basket (hamper) (2Cor 11:32)

Saul in Jerusalem, led by BarNabas to the Apostles (this is about 3 years of Paul's call and stay for 15 days - Gal 1:18)

26 Moreover, he arrived unto Jerusalem and tried to join the disciples, but all were afraid, testing him, for he had not been a disciple who have faith.

27 but BarNabas takes and lead him to the Apostles; and fully related to them, how on the road, he clearly discerned the Lord, and that, He preached to him; and how, he spoke boldly in the Name of Jesus in Damascus.

28 And he was with them, coming in and going out in Jerusalem, and was frank in utterance in the Name of the Lord.

Saul, Second escape of death, from Jerusalem to Ceasarea and to his origin at Tarsus 

29 in addition, he preached and debated together with the Hellenist (Greek speaking Jews); who also lay hands upon him even to be killed.

30 So, having recognized that, the brethren lead him down to Caesarea, and dispatched him unto Tarsus.

Peter's ministry continues from Act 8:25.... Church is expanding 

31 Therefore, they have indeed traveled, the churches in the whole of Judea and Samaria and Galilee, multiply, have peace, and were built up according to the consolation of the Holy Spirit and in the reverence of the Lord.

Paralyzed Aeneas, healed by Peter

32 Peter also, happened to pass through all (those place) and went down to the saints dwelling in Lydda (Lod).

33 Also, right there, he find a certain man, Aeneas, by name, who was paralyzed, and has been lying down out of a mat, upon eight years. 

34 And Peter says to him, Aenaes, Jesus Christ heals you, rise up, and stretch yourself, and immediately he stands up.

35 and all dwellers of Lod/Lydda and Sharon (plain) are aware of it, some of who turned to the Lord.

Dorcas raised from death at Joppa by Peter 

36 Moreover, in Joppa (Japho) there was a certain disciple, called Tabitha (a gazelle) by name, which is translated Dorcas. She does good things and is full of words of benevolence/alms-giving. 

37 So, it happened in that day, that she was sick and died. So, they washed her, and laid her in the upper room.

38 and the disciples, heard that Peter was in Lydda/Lod which is near Joppa, and they sent two men towards him, imploring him not to delay until he travels to us.

39 So, Peter stands up, to depart together with them, who as he arrived, he was led up to the upper room. And all the widows with her stand by, weeping and showing garments and dresses, as much as Dorcas has done for them.

40 However, Peter drives all people outside, and make prayer on his knees. And he turns again to the body, saying, Tabitha, stand up! Peter discerned, she opened her eyes, and positioned her to be set up/seated up. 

41 so, having given her a hand, she stands up. Also having addressed the saints and the widows, he presented her alive.

42 and it becomes well known throughout the whole of Joppa, and many have Faith upon the Lord.

43 and he happens to stay for days in Joppa, near Simon, a certain competent tanner (in hide and skin).
