Luke Chapter 15

 Luke 15

Parable of the joy over one lost but found sheep.

Moreover, sinful tax collectors have been drawn near to Him to listen to Him;

and both, the Pharisees and Scribes murmur, saying, that this man admit sinners and eat with them.

So, He speaks this parable to them, saying,

which man from you, who has a hundred sheep, and lose one from them; will not abandon the ninety-nine and goes away after the lost one in the desert until he finds it?

And having found it, he will put it upon his shoulder, rejoicing.

And he will come unto his household, and calls friends and neighbors together, telling them, how I should be congratulated, for I find my lost sheep!

I tell you, because, there will be joy likewise in heaven over one sinner who repent rather than, over ninety-nine Righteous ones, who have no need of repentance.

Parable of the joy upon one lost but found coin.

Or which woman, who has ten silver-coins, in case, she lose one drachma (a coin), and who will not indeed kindle a lamp, and sweep the house, and seek carefully until it is found?

And having found it, she will call friends and neighbors together, saying, congratulate me, I have found the drachma which was lost.

Likewise, I tell you, there is joy before Angels of God over one sinner who repent.

Parable of the joy upon one lost but found son

Moreover, He says, a certain man has two sons.

And the younger of them says to the father, father, give me the part of the property, belonging to me. So, he separates his means of livelihood.

and not even within many days, the younger son gathers everything together and travels abroad into long distant region. And by prodigal living, he wastes his property there.

so, he spends everything. However, serious famine happens to be throughout that region, and he begins to lack.

And he goes forth, to joins a citizen of that region, who dispatch him into his farm, to feed swine.

And as he had set his heart upon filling his belly from the husk, which pigs are eating; nothing was given to him.

so he says unto himself, how much of bread abound for my father's hired-servants, but, famine/lack has come to fully-destroy me.

I wil rise up, I will go-forth to my father, and tell him; father, I have erred unto heaven and in your face.

I am no longer deserve to be called your son, make me as one of your hired-servants.

he stands up, and go towards his own father, and as he was still far away, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and walk hastily to embrace him upon his neck, and earnestly kiss to fully accept him.

and the son say to his father, I have erred unto heaven and before you; I am no longer deserved to be called your son, [make me as one of your hired servant].

But, the father says to his servants, quickly bring forth the best long fitting-gown, and clothe him, and put a finger ring into his hand, and sandals unto his feet;

And carry fattened-calf, slay and eat, and make merriment.

and begins to make merry, for this my son has been dead, but is revived; he has been lost, but is found.

But, his elder son has been in the field; so, as he comes and draw near to the house, he hears harmonious music (symphony) and dancing.

And he calls one of the servants near, and enquire what possibly could this be.

so, he says that, your brother arrives here, and your father slays a fattened calf, because of receiving him back in sound health.

but being provoked, he does not want to enter, and his father, go forth to beseech him.

however, he answers and tells the father, behold, I have served you for so many years, and did not at any time pass aside your commandments, and you never give a young goat to me, at least to make merry with my friend.

but, when this your son comes, the one who devour your means of living with harlots, how you sacrifice a fattened-calf for him!

but, he tells his son, you are always with me, and all of mine are yours.

So, we must make merry and be cheerful, because this your brother, has been dead but is alive again; and lost, but is found.
