Luke 17
Jesus warns against causing apostasy/scandalizing
1 Moreover, He says to His disciples, it is not improper/out of place, for stumbling/scandal to come. Nevertheless, oh no; to him, through whom it comes!
2 it is better, if a stone of a mill is hung around his neck, and be flung into the sea, than for him to make at least, one of these little ones to stumble.
Jesus teaches about deliberate forgiveness on daily basis, not seven times but in fullness/in completeness (sheba in Hebrew)
3 Be cautious, yourselves: in case your brother offends (unto you), rebuke him (on evaluation); and in case he repents, forgive him.
4 and in case, he offends unto you seven times a day, and returns to you, seven times, saying, I repent; forgive him.
Jesus teaches on putting Faith to work by keeping it simple (k.I.Ss).
5 And the Apostles tell the Lord, how much a Faith we should add up!
6 So, the Lord says, if you have Faith on this thing, as a grain of mustard-seed, you will possibly tell a sycamore-fig tree (mulberry), be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it will listen to you.
Christian are to serve as being duty-bound, expecting their reward from God.
7 Moreover, which of you, have a servant, who have ploughed or fed the cattle, and will say to him immediately he enters from the field, pass by and sit at the table?
8 But, would you not rather tells him, fasten your belt till I eat and drink? prepare what to eat for supper and serve me, and amidst that, you will eat and drink.
9 should't the servant have grace (charin), because he has done things commanded? [I don't think so]
10 thus it is, for a servant of a villainous/scoundrel person. And you, whenever you are doing all you have been commanded; you will say, we are BOUND/Under obligation to do what we are doing.
Jesus heals ten lepers, but the one who returns to appreciate Jesus was confirmed saved
11 And as He happens to be taking a journey into Jerusalem, He walks through the middle of Samaria and Galilee.
12 And as He enters into a certain village, He meets ten leprous men, who stand far away.
13 And they lift up their voices, saying, Jesus, the Commander, have mercy on us.
14 And having seen them, He says, go forth, and show yourselves to the Priests, and it happens that, as they were going away, they were cleansed.
15 But, the mega thing is the voice of one out of them, glorifying God, having seen that he has been healed, he turned back behind them.
16 And he fell down upon his face, near His feet, being grateful to Him; and he is a Samaritan.
17 But, Jesus answers and say, were there not indeed, ten (men) cleansed? So, where are the nine?
(Quote: They never reach the priests office nor return to appreciate)
18 None is found to turn back to give glory to God, except this out of another ethnic/race?
19 And He tells him, arise, go away; your faith, SAVES (sozo) you!
(note: this is the only thing that would have returned financial gains to the Pharisees and chief priests and gave Jesus a good record under their law. But they never went there).
Present Kingdom of God is now within the earth and is operated by Faith and no sign is attached
20 Moreover, when He was questioned by the Pharisees on the coming of the kingdom of God, He answers them and says, kingdom of God is not coming with careful observations;
21 neither will it be said, see it here, or there; behold, the kingdom of God will be inside/within you.
22 So, He says to the disciples, a day is coming, when men will wish to see one of the days of the Son, and will not see it.
23 And they will tell you, you will not be persecuted, behold he is here or behold he is there. Never depart/go.
Jesus gave the signs yo watch out for, before the consummation of the Kingdom of God for His 1000 years
24 No doubt, just as flashing of lightning under the sky, will shine unto men under the sky; so shall it be for the Son in His day.
25 but, first of all, He must suffer many things, and be disapproved from this generation.
26 And just as it happened to men in the days of Noah, it will even be likewise in the day of the Son.
27 They were eating, drinking, marrying and be given in marriage, until the day which Noah entered into the box (ark), and the flood came to destroy everybody.
An unclear incident of haparzo/catching away of some people
28 similarly, just as it happened in the days of Lot; they were eating, drinking, buying, and selling, planting and building;
29 But the day which Lot PROCEEDED Out of Sodom, it rained fire and sulphur from the sky and all of them were fully destroyed.
30 it shall likewise be unto men, according to the day, which the Son will be revealed.
31 in that day, those who shall be on the housetop, and his equipments are in the house, should not come down to take them away; and those in the field, likewise, should not return unto the things behind.
32 remember the Lot's wife.
33 whoever provided is seeking to save (sozo) souls, may lose his; and whoever possibly lose his (own) to them, will be made to live again (enliven).
34 I tell you, upon this one, there will be two on a bed by night, one will be taken near (......), and the other left.
35 There will be two, grinding upon the same thing , and one will be taken near [......] and the other left.
36 {Two will be in the field, and one will be taken near [.......] and the other will be left}.
37 And they answered and asked Him: to WHERE, Lord? So, He tells them, wheresover the eagle/vultures gather together, right there, are bodies. (cf: Matt 24:28)
