Luke 23

Jesus was tried before Pilate 

@Ash Wednesday morning (day of agony) 

1 And the whole multitude of them arise, and lead Him over to Pilate.

2 So, they begin to accuse Him, saying, we found this man misleading the heathen-nations, and forbid giving tax to Ceasar, and saying Himself is Christ the King.

3 So, Pilate interrogates Him, by saying, are You the king of the Jews? HE made his thoughts known and answered; you have been told.

4 So, Pilate says to the Chief-Priests and the crowd, I found no crime in this man. (Jh 14:30)

5 but, to prevail upon him, they say, He has been stirring up people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee even unto this place.

Jesus eventually faces the fox in Herod on ash-Wednesday afternoon (only Luke reported this) 

6 So, Pilate having heard (of Galilee), ask whether the man is a Galilean;

7 and perceiving that He is from the authority of Herod, so, he send Him back to Herod, who was in Jerusalem on that day.

8 And Herod, having seen Jesus, cheer up exceedingly; for, he has been wishing over a space of time to see Him, because he has heard under competent ones (hikanon) about Him; and he hopes to see certain miracles to happen from Him.

9 Moreover, the experts (hikanon) questioned Him on matters, but He answers them nothing.

10 So, the Chief-Priests and the Scribes stand firm, and cogently accuse Him.

11 Moreover, Herod, together with his soldiers/army, got Him exhausted by mocking Him, and they put on Him a radiant robe, and send Him back to Pilate.

12 however, both Herod and Pilate became friend even with one another on the same day, for, they were previously in enmity towards themselves.

Jesus Christ, the Son of the FATHER God was exchanged for another [Joshua] Bar-Abbas (dear son of his father) 

@ Thursday morning (day of sacrifice) 

13 Moreover, Pilate, calls together the chief-Priests, and the Rulers and the people;

14 and speaks towards them, you brought this Man to me, as though, He is misleading the people; and behold, I have investigated Him before you, of what you charged against Him but I found no fault in this man.

15 And, on the contrary, to have sent Him back to me, no doubt, not even by Herod. And behold, He has not even been repeatedly practicing things deserving death.

16 therefore, I will discipline/chastize Him and release Him.

17+ however, of necessity, he has to release one person to them on the holyday/feast day+

18 But, all the people simultaneously scream up, take this man away! And say, release Bar-Abbas to us;

19 who happens to murder through certain dissension in the city, and has been thrown into prison.

20 Pilate desire to release Jesus, so, he addresses them again, 

21 But, they exclaim, saying, crucify (impale on the stake), crucify Him.

22 So, he tells them, the third time, what evil has this man committed? I find no cause for death in Him, therefore, I will chastise Him and release Him.

23 however, the mega part is the voices spreading upon voices. And the prevailing one of them, which is + of the Chief Priests + is craving to crucify Him; 

24 And Pilate adjudge/give sentence, which happen to be as their demand.

25 So, he releases whom they demanded, who has been thrown into the prison because of insurrection and murder; but, deliver Jesus to their determination.

Jesus; on the way to Golgotha

26 And as they lead Him away, they seize a certain Simon, a Cyrenian; who was coming from farm/field. And they put the stake/cross upon him, to be carried behind Jesus.

27 Many multitude of people also follow Him, and women who bewail and mourn for Him.

28 So, Jesus turns around to them, and says, daughters of Jerusalem, never weep over Me, nevertheless, weep over yourselves and over your children.

29 for behold, days are coming, in which they will say, supremely blessed are the barren, and the womb which never bear, and breast which never feed.

30 Then, they will begin say to the mountain, fall upon us; and to the hill(locks), cover us up: (Hosea 10:8)

31 For if they do this to a tree in the wet (rainy season); what will happen in the arid (season)?

Two people are crucified  together with Jesus 

32 Moreover, they lead away even two other criminals, to be put to death together with Him.

33 And when they have come to a place called the Skull (cranium/golgotha); they crucified Him there. However, the criminals of whom, one indeed is from the Right hand, and one is from the left side.

34 So, Jesus says, FATHER, forgive/let go of them. No doubt, they are not aware of what they are doing. Moreover, to share His garment, they cast lot

35 And the people, who are looking, stand still and the Rulers sneer, saying, if You are that Christ, who will save others, save yourself, the Favorite/Chosen One of God.

36 Moreover, as they mock Him, a soldier approaches to offer Him vinegar (sour-wine).

37 and they say, if you are the king of the Jews, oh save yourself!

38 however, an inscription/poster was over Him: This is the King of the Jews. {in letters of Greek and Latin and Hebrew}.

39 But, one of the criminals, to be hanged, blasphemes (speak impiously of) Him, saying, are you not indeed the Christ? Oh save Yourself and me!

40 but the other one answers, and admonish him/rebuke him on evaluation, saying, howbeit, don't you even fear God, because it is by what their decision/judgment was? 

41 and we indeed have rightly/justly deserve to fully-received  this for what we have repeatedly practiced, but this Man practice nothing absurd/out-of-place.

42 And he says to Jesus, remember me, whenever You come into Your kingdom!

43 And He tells him, I tell you at present and so shall it be you will be with Me in Paradise (An orchard park like Eden).

Jesus died at 3pm

44 Even now, it is about sixth hour (12pm), and darkness happens to be over the whole earth until ninth-hour (3pm Wednesday).

45 the Sun darkened, moreover, the veil (thick curtain) of the temple rend in the middle.

46 And the mega part is the voice of Jesus that calls out, saying, FATHER, unto My hands, YOU have presented/committed (paratithemai) the SPIRIT. So, having said this, He gave up ghost (expirate).

47 Moreover, as the Centurion, saw what has happened, he glorifies God, and say, this Person is really a Righteous Man.

48 And all the crowd who came together upon this view/event, saw what has happened, and returned back beating their own chest.

49 and, all His acquaintances and women who followed Him together from Galilee, stand afar off to see these things.

Jesus was buried 

@Thursday evening 

50 And behold, a fellow-man with a name, Joseph; a member of Jewish-Sahendrin, and a good sub-ruler and Righteous man.

51 he is from Arimathea (Ramah), a city of the Jews, who was waiting to welcome the kingdom of God. This one has not been consenting to the actions of the Sahendrist-parliament. 

52 he approaches Pilate and asks for the body of Jesus.

53 and he lowered Him down, wrap Him with linen cloth, and lay Him in a grave, hewed in a rock, where, even certainly, not even one person has ever been laid. 

54 and it is (now) preparation/readiness day (6pm Thursday-6pm Friday), as it will begins to dawn (superimpose) on the Sabbath day (6pm Friday-6pm Saturday).

55 however, even the women, who are together with Him from Galilee, follow closely to see as His body was laid in the grave.

56 And they returned to prepare aromatic-spices and myrrh-ointment, and to rest indeed, on the Sabbath-day according to the commandments.
