LUKE CHAPTER 24

Luke 24

Jesus rose on the third day; fromThursday to Sunday (a day of immortality (aiku) ) 

1 Moreover, on day-one of Sabbath week, at sun-up (for seeing right), they bring the aromatic spices which has been prepared. And as they are going deep down over to the grave,

2 howbeit, they find the stone rolled away from the grave.

3 and as they entered, they didn't find the body of the Lord, Jesus.

4 And they become perplexed about this, and behold, two men stood by them, in garments flashing as lightning.

5 so as they become afraid, they recline their faces to the ground. And they speak towards them, why did you seek for the Living among the dead?

6 He is not here. Oh, on the contrary, He has risen! Remember as He preached to you, while He was still in Galilee;

7 saying that, the Son must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified by men, and be raised up on the third day.

8 And they remember His utterances (rhema).

9 and as they returned from the grave, they announce all these things to the eleven (disciples) and the rest of all. 

10 Moreso, it was Mary-Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, that say these things to the Apostles and the rest who were together with them.

11 and these utterances appear before them like nonsense/idle talk and they disbelieve it.

12 So, Peter, stand up and walks hastily to the grave and upon bending beside it, he sees only the bandage of linen cloth, and goes away, wondering towards himself, what has happened.

JESUS appears to two disciples, walking on the way to Emmaus 

13 And behold, two from them, in the same day, are traveling to keep away from Jerusalem into a village whose name is Emmaus, sixty stadium race distance;

14 And they talk to one another about all these things that has taken place.

15 And it happens that in their talking and deliberating, the same Jesus, approach and journey together with them;

16 but, their eyes were held back not to perceive Him. 

17 and He says toward them, what are these words which you exchange towards one another as you walk? Why standing and looking sullen? 

18 So, the one, whose name is Cleopas says to Him; are you only a resident of Jerusalem? And haven't You known what happened in it, these days?

19 And He tells them: what kind of thing? So, they tells Him; things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who happens to be a fellow-Man, a Mighty Prophet in actions/deeds and Words, before God and all the people.

20 in addition, the Chief Priests and our Rulers, delivered Him anyhow, unto judgment of death, and crucified Him.

21 and, we expect Him to be the One who is about to redeem Israel and doubtless together with all who bring/lead this thing. But, this is the third day, from when these things happened.

22 On the contrary, even certain women from us, who happen to be upon the grave at day-break, had astonished us. 

23 as they did not even find His body, and had come even to say, they had seen vision of Angels, who said: He is Alive.

24 And some of those with us goes forth over to the grave, and find it so, even just as the women had said; so, they didn't see Him.

25 However, He says to them, upon all that the prophets had preached; oh how you are unintelligent of heart and slow to believe! 

26 Mustn't Christ indeed suffer these things? And enter into His Glory.

27 And He begins, away from Moses, and from all the prophets, interpreting/explaining all things concerning Himself to them in the Holy writings. 

Jesus opens the eyes of two disciples (learners) who want to stay away from Jerusalem 

28 and they draw near unto the village where they are travelling to. However, He pretended to be traveling further.

29 And they compelled Him, and say, stay with us, for it is evening, and now, the day is reclining/far spent. And He enters to stay with them.

30 and it happens to be, as He sits at table with them, He takes the loaf of bread, and blesses, and brake it, and gives it over to them.

31 and, their eyes were opened through, and they recognize Him, and He becomes vanished/invisible from their sight.

32 And they say to one another, haven't our heart been kindled in us, as He preached to us on the way, and as He thoroughly opened/expounded the Holy writings to us?

The two run-away-disciples return to Jerusalem to confirm the women-evidence

33 And they stand up at the same hour, and return to Jerusalem, and find the eleven (disciples) and those with them, gathered together.

34 and they say that, really, the Lord has risen, and Simon discerned clearly.

35 And they explained what happens on the road, and as they know in the breaking of bread.

Jesus eats with His disciples, in the Kingdom of God which is currently among men on earth. 

36 Moreover, as they are preaching these things, He stands still in their midst and tells them, PEACE (Eirene) unto you.

37 howbeit, they become fearful and tremble (like flying away or falling down), thinking they are looking at a spirit.

38 And He tells them, why are you agitated? And by what reason and why is the comtemplation that ascend up in your heart?

39 See My hands and My feet, for, I Am the Same. HANDLE/feel Me (palpate) and discern clearly, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, just as you see Me having.

40 And having said these, He shows them the hands and feet.

41 but, for certain persons who still disbelieve Him, He tells them, do you have eatables here? And from wondering for the joy, 

42 they give a part of roasted fish (and honey) over to Him.

43 And having received it, He eats in their faces.

Jesus uses scriptures to help the understanding of disciples

44 Moreover, He says to them, these are Words, which I preached to you, while still being together with you, because, all things written in the law of Moses, and the prophets and psalms concerning Me must be fulfilled.

45 At this time, He thoroughly open their intellects/minds to understand/mentally put together (sunesis) the Holy writings,

46 and He tells them, it has been written, Christ would suffer likewise and rise up the third day, out of the dead;

47 and repentance and freedom from sins will be proclaimed upon His Name unto all heathen-nations, starting away from Jerusalem.

48 you are the witnesses of these things.

49 And behold, I am sending out, the Promise of My FATHER upon you; so, you will settle down in the city (of Jerusalem), until the Power, which is from the HIGHEST is investitured in you/will dress you up. 

50 And, He leads them forth outside till they are towards Bethany (date house), and He raises up His hands, and blesses them.

Ascension of Jesus Christ took place in Galilee, and they returned to Jerusalem

51 He happens to part/separate away from them by being taken up unto heaven. And they were blessed by Him. 

52 And they prostrates in woorshipping Him, and return unto Jerusalem with great joy.

53 And they were in the temple, all through, (praising) blessing/speaking well of God.
