John 19

Calvary of soldiers of Herod mock Jesus on Wednesday

1. At some times later, Pilate then received Jesus, who has been flogged - 

2. - by the soldiers, who even plaited a wreath/crown from thorns, and lay upon His head, and a purple robe (purpureal/bluish-red) was wrapped all around Him,

3. And they come towards Him and say, Cheer! The king of the Jews. And they give Him slap.

Jesus was returned to Pilate who delivered Him to be killed on Thursday morning . 

4. And Pilate proceeds outside again and tells them, behold, I will bring Him outside to you, at least to know that I do not find any crime in Him.

5. Then, Jesus proceeds outside, wearing a thorny wreath and bluish-red robe; and tells them, behold the Man!

6. Therefore, when the Chief Priests and the officers see Him, they clamour, saying, crucify Him! Crucify Him! (Impale on a stake). And Pilate tells them, you by yourselves should take Him and crucify; because I find no crime in Him.

7. The Jews answer him, we have a law, and according to the law, because of doing things of God on His own, being the Son, He Must die. 

8. Therefore, when Pilate heard this word, he was frightened the more.

9. And he enters into the Praetorium again, and ask Jesus, where are you from? But Jesus gives him no answer.

10. Pilate then tells Him, won't You preach to me? Are You not aware that I have authority to pardon You, and I have authority to crucify You?

11. Jesus answers him, no man could have had authority against Me, except you are given from above. And by that reason, those who surrender Me to you, have the greatest sin.

12 Pilate sought to release Him of this thing; but the Jews screams, saying, if this Man is released, you are not a friend (in favor) of Ceasar (Roman emperor). Everyone doing things as a king on his own, is contradicting/speaking against Ceasar.

13. Having heard these words; Pilate then brings Jesus out, and seat down upon a footstep into a place called stone-strewed-pavement; and also in Aramaic, called, Gabbatha (knoll/Roman tribunal). 

14 - the (sabbath) preparation day (between Thursday 6pm to Friday 6pm) shall be of the one of the Passover feast.- And as it was about the sixth hour (12pm Thursday), he told the Jews, behold your king!

15. Then they clamour, take away that Man! Crucify Him! Pilate asks them, why will I take away and crucify your king? The Chief priests answer, we have no king, except Ceasar.

16. Therefore, at this time, he surrendered Him to them, at least, to be crucified. And they therefore take Jesus to themselves.

Jesus upon the tree

17. And He bear His own stake (post), and proceeds out unto a place called skull (cranium), which in Hebrew is called, Golgotha (a skull-like knoll, near Jerusalem);

18. Where they crucified Him, and other two with Him, here and there, and Jesus also in the middle.

19. And Pilate however wrote a title, and place it upon the stake/cross. And, it was written, "Jesus of Nazareth", "the king of the Jews".

20. Then, many Jews read this title, because the place where Jesus was crucified was close to the city ; and it was written in Aramaic (Hebrew), Latin (Roman) and Greek (Hellen).

21. The Chief Priests of the Jews then told Pilate, don't write, "the king of the Jews", but that, the same Man says "I am a king (of the Jews). 

22. Pilate answers, what I wrote, have been written.

23 Then, the soldiers, while they crucified Jesus, took His garment, and divided it into four divisions, and a division for each soldier, but the tunic (shirt), was a seamless shirt, knitted/woven all through from the top.

24. Then, they said towards one another, don't tear it, but cast lot around it, for whom it will be; at least to fulfill the scripture, that says, they partition My garments for themselves, and upon My clothing they cast a die (Ps 22:18). Therefore, the soldiers indeed, did this thing.

Jesus finally explained the place of Moriah/Mary, His mother as the WOMAN predicted by God in the garden of Eden

25. Moreover, standing near the stake of Jesus, are His mother, and the sister of His mother, Mary (wife of) Clopas and Mary Magdalene (inhabitants of Magdala).

26. Then, behold, His mother, and the disciple, whom He Loved  were standing by; and Jesus told the mother, Woman, clearly discern who is your Son. 

(note: she is the prophetic woman to birth the Offspring from Havva/Eva in Gen 3:15).

27. Afterwards, He told that disciple, you should behold her as unto your own, and from that hour, the disciple received the mother.

Jesus finally accomplished the assignment of HIS  FATHER 

28. In the midst of these, Jesus is aware that all things are accomplished already, at least, to fulfill the scripture, He says, I thirst.

29. Containers are laid up, full of vinegar (sour wine); then a sponge, filled with vinegar, was placed around a stick of hyssop, and presented unto His mouth.

30. Therefore, having received the vinegar, Jesus says, when things are completed/finished up (debt paid/men discharged and acquitted), the SPIRIT shall be delivered up/surrendered (to you); and He slanted His head.

Jesus was pierced: a proof that He got blood and water (a proof of true Human-Being and not an angel or a ghost) 

31. Since, it was a preparation day (Thursday 6pm - Friday 6pm), and at least, for the bodies not to stay upon the stakes/cross on the Sabbath (Friday 6pm to Saturday 6pm), and because, that would be a mega Sabbath-day. Therefore, the Jews requested from Pilate to brake their legs and take them away.

32. The soldiers therefore come, and indeed break the legs of others who were crucified with Him first;

33. Upon coming also to Jesus, they clearly discern, He had died already. So, they did not break His legs.

34. But, one of the soldiers PIERCED His side/rib with spear, and immediately, BLOOD and WATER poured out. (a proof of His 100% Human Being)

35. And the one who saw it testified, and his testimony is truthful. And because that same person absolutely know it, what he said was true, at least, for you to have Faith.

36. For, these things happened, at least to fulfill the scripture, no bone of Him is broken. (Ex.12:46, Ps. 34:20, Num. 9:12).

37. and again different scripture says, they will look unto the One they pierced (transfix). (Zach 12:10)

Jesus was buried in a newly hewn-grave by Joseph of Arimathea

38 Moreover, amid these things, Joseph from Arimathea (Ramah) ---being Jesus' disciple, though secretly, because of the fear of the Jews -- ask Pilate, at least to carry the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave permission. Therefore, he went to carry away His body. 

39. Moreover, Nicodemus also came, the one who came towards Him by night at first, and bear a mixture of myrrh and aloes (gums), about a hundred liters.

40. Then, they take the body of Jesus, and bind it in linen clothes, with the spices, just as the custom of the Jews to prepare for burial.

41. More so, there was a garden in the place, where He was crucified, and there is a  grave in the garden, within which, even with a certainty, at the new-age, no man had been laid.

42. Therefore, because of the (sabbath) preparation of the Jews, and because, the tomb was near, they laid Jesus there.
